I don't believe there is a variant gold edition, there may be, but I have not been able to confirm. This one being offered today (the link is live now) is known as the "red edition" so perhaps Tyler will be doing a variant as well. Orders can be placed until midnight tonight pacific time and that is the amount he will be producing as it is a timed release.

Original Japanese posters can be quite difficult to get, make sure you take good care of it. I remember I had gotten in years ago some original Pulp Fiction Japanese posters and when I met Samuel L. Jackson he saw them and said "What is that style?" as he really liked the design but didn't have it, so I had one sent to him via his agent and a year later I got to spend some time with him and he told me he loved that poster and had it framed up in his screening room. A really cool guy he was, very soft-spoken too.

That is pretty awesome! Not many can claim to be the interior decorator for Samuel L Jackson! I have always been a fan since listening to his Lone Wolf and Cub commentary. Dude is cool. I have a few other Japanese originals other than this one. I was able to track down Sex and Fury in it's speed poster version. The others are of newer stuff like Memories and A Snake of June.

LOL! I would hardly call myself the interior decorator for him, he just really liked the poster and since I had about half a dozen that he was signing, I offered to send him one.

Unfortunately I don't, those all sold quite a long time ago, I didn't even save one for myself.

Looks like the Sideshow Steamboat Willie variant went up and is already sold out with only 60 going up. I guess there is always the wait list

http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=901305

I missed it but i went ahead and ordered that Tyler Stout art print because the more i looked at it the more i wanted it so i'm very happy to have a Tyler Stout in my collection now and plan to put it up next to one of my Shepard Fairey prints and have a whole wall full or red lol.

I was surprised they didn't do an announcement but then again I kind of am not surprised. Its clear that Sideshow didn't want their site crashing and freezing up from all the fans wanting it because that is generally what can happen at times, so releasing it with no fanfare is actually a smart move on their part. Cool that you ordered the Stout one from today, congrats!

Default Another chance for Ansin Mummy Posters

Looks like there is going to be another shot for people to get an Ansin mummy poster if anyone is still interested.

Yeah I have the 85U series 46" from 2008, someone I know really wants it so was thinking about the ST30 in the same size, even though I don't care for 3D, I do know that the 3D video processors are better for 2D viewing and I am a big fan of Panasonic. Or, I could wait until the 2012 models are released as they will be announced at CES in January.

I would highly suggest for any fans of Martin Ansin to try for it Monday. I have a copy of this and think it's one of Ansin's best posters and I always find something new when I look at it. Good luck to anyone who is going for it!

Well my Let Me In poster survived the trip across the Atlantic. There are a few imperfections from shipping but nothing that ruined the poster. I have a question though. It's double sided and it came wrapped up in brown paper on one side. I removed the paper and I'm wondering is it ok to leave the poster sitting rolled up without being wrapped in the paper? I'll have my frame this week for it.

Speaking of frames...I want to thank grooveska for his help picking out a frame. I got a deluxe archive frame from hollywoodposterframes.com for $119. I think it's an outstanding deal since they had to cut a weird size. Since it's European, they use centimeters and it was 70 x 100 cm. That converted to 27.6 x 39.4 inches. Weird!

Welcome to the metric system Why Americans kept the imperial system (Sorry the US customary system) with their natural distrust for the British still amazes me to this day!

(I'm kidding about the distrust for the British, but I still shake my head at the general resistance)

Yeah cm all around would be fine. Imagine the look on the framers face when she see's she has to cut me a 27.6 x 39.4 inch frame.

So would you say my poster is fine exposed without that paper wrapping? It will only be a few days.

Well, I've only ordered one British Quad and it didn't come with any backing on it. When you took the backing off did it 'peel' off? Is there any sort of sticky substance on either the paper or the poster? I couldn't imagine that would be the case so my gut would say you should fine.

No it was just plain thin brown paper. It's like one ply paper bag type paper. No stickiness whatsoever. The paper was 2" wider than the poster on both sides and the shipper told me they did it so the edges of the poster wouldn't get damaged. It was a great idea.
