Well... when I get mine in a couple of weeks and my wife threatens to leave me I will gladly pass it along to you at my cost, which would be $45+$16 for shipping + any shipping expense I'd incure to get it over to you as I am in Canada. I'll keep you in mind when the time comes, I'm not looking to make money on these if I know someone else will frame and it dispaly it rather than flip it.

If you're serious don't hesitate to contact me, I'll display it proudly for years to come.

I'm really not surprised it took a while to sell out, not a very nice looking print at all. I know it's JP, but it's boring - and the tag line is super cheesy.

I don't agree... I like it, have you noticed the t-rex and car in the bottom section? I think there is a lot going on and look forward to getting a closer look at it.

Just a heads up for anyone interested...tomorrow on Sideshow Collectibles the variant of Tom Whalen's Monsters Inc. is going up at a random time. It was posted on Justin Ishmael of Mondo twitter account. I'm not sure how much it will be but Steamboat Willie was $64.99 so i would guess around there. Here is the tweet from Mondo about it...

"I heard a rumor that Sideshow will have their Monsters Inc. variants up for sale tomorrow. Just sayin....."

Many think that, others do that. Starting in 2010 is when it started getting difficult to get the prints, because they have marketed themselves everywhere online and that has brought thousands if not more collectors into the mix, with the print runs only seeing a slight increase in numbers. There are some who have been collecting the Mondo/Alamo prints for years, some even since they started putting them out, and now they have to compete with the new collector which I am sure is quite frustrating for them.

But just as Obi-Wan said in Star Wars "...but there are alternatives to fighting", there are other ways to help increase your odds of getting a print. One of them is never rely on Paypal as a payment option, too slow, too many hurdles to jump and every second counts when it you are trying to get one.

For those who got the JP print, congrats. I personally didn't try, been sick with the flu and completely forget, but it was quite nice looking.

Right now they are fetching about 3x the original price, but give it some time, most Mondo prints of today tend to go up at first, and then they sometimes come down, then they maintain, then they dry up completely on the secondary market for a while and then every so often one will pop up. Now, if you really want the older stuff, say 2008 and before, in particular the Stout one for The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, etc those continue to go up in value, there is no decrease, etc. The Thing last time I checked sold for over $2000, and I don't foresee them coming down either. Insanely high demand and extremely low supply will keep those "up" there in price.

It really didn't take that long to sell out.

It just took a "little" longer than the high demand posters, hehe. I remember the Star Wars ones that sold out almost before the link went up because some people figured out the link on their own. I'm looking forward to the next Jurassic Park poster...I liked this one, but not enough to snatch it up on my current budget.

I've gotten quite a few Mondo posters...only have missed a few that I wanted (the Star Wars series ones by Moss and Stout...and the early Stout ones like Big Trouble in Little China). Otherwise I've gotten a good amount. I love my Bounty Hunter collection, Hellboy 2 and Iron Man 2 (stout)

I yea I know it wasn't an instant sell out, but it's not like they sat there, they were still gone within 10 minutes. I wasn't able to get one through my phone, although if I was at home, I probably would have been able to get one.

Of all the crazier Mondo releases, the Stout SW set was actually the only one I was able to get. Even paid with paypal. Granted, most releases I'm stuck using my phone.

I really wanted either of the trilogy sets...I really liked both the Stout and Moss ones.

I think the only reason this took "a while" to sell out is because it was a relatively high amount of them for sale, right? I mean 350 is fairly rare for them, from what I recall.

I think it also dropped a little earlier than the normal "random" time. I think this is one poster that is going to look better in person than it does in the pictures. It is also different from the usual stylized Mondo poster as this one is almost photorealistic.

Not really, sure it could be a higher than normal number for a new artist they are using, but it was a nice looking print, and there are a lot of Spielberg/JP collectors out there. Its clear it wasn't enough though because it did sell out and the prices are 3x or more for them, so they could have probably made 500 of them and it would have sold out. The Stout numbers have been getting bigger and bigger, perhaps to help satisfy the demand or perhaps because Mondo knows they will sell out. The highest Stout number I believe was for the standard Star Wars set which was 850. The lowest I believe was for his earlier work, if a person wanted to count his Robocop metal variant as one, I think that had a print run of about 30 or so.

The Star Wars Stout ones went fairly early I believe in the morning, around 8:30am pacific time or so. The variant set is actually much rarer than people think. With only 275 of each print made (remember not all 275 were sold, I believe Lucasfilm got some of them) when they offered the variant set (and the standard set) people could buy them individually or as a set with matching numbers, but the sets went so fast, I have to imagine that there are not many matching variant sets out there at all, probably less than 150 or 200 sets.

I think earlier this year, one of the Stout ones that went on sale went earlier than expected for pacific time zone collectors, it was around 7:30am I want to say it was Captain America because I believe it was during the San Diego Comic-Con time.

Monsters Inc. variant hit the Sideshow site at 3pm pacific time, I am quite sure Sideshow isn't happy since the site crashed following the Mondo announcement via Twitter, which not only upsets customers trying to get it, but customers trying to order other items. 45 minutes later and the site is still plagued with problems. Somehow I think Sideshow is regretting getting into the print business right now (just kidding). All I can confirm is the print was $79.99 and that it was limited to 140 prints. I am now on the site and it says that they are checking inventory, probably to see if they oversold them, etc.

Update #1: Now it shows "In Stock" as of 3:47pm pacific time but when you try to order one, it says out of stock.

Update #2: It has officially sold-out, as they did a count and they did in fact sell out. However click the "wait list" icon and if any orders are canceled they will pull orders from that waiting list.

Ugh what a mess, I waited all day to see if I could get one as I liked that design and its one of my daughter's favorite films. Not that big a deal, I figured through Sideshow it'd be way more available and less a giant rushdown.

Frustrating for a lot of people I imagine, because Sideshow doesn't do a "random time" where people can kind of figure out it falls in a two hour window like Mondo. I am sure Sideshow wasnt expecting the onslaught of people coming to their site causing it to crash multiple times for the first 45 minutes. Best advice I can give you is click on the "wait list" icon and pay for it (they wont charge you unless they can fill your order) as there may be some orders that have credit cards that don't go through, or insufficient funds, etc. and in that case they cancel those orders and pull orders from the wait list in order of when people signed up. It's always worth a shot....

Well here is my cherished poster. The frame I received from Hollywood Poster Frames is awesome. I'm beyond pleased how it all looks.

Looks great, just in time for Halloween

I've only ever seen the original of that film, never knew they made a remake until I read about you getting this poster on this thread. I'll have to check it out sometimes as I really enjoyed the original.
