Hi, everyone--for those of you who help with the Wiki aspects of the site (thank you ) -- when submitting/creating specs for TT releases, please stop using the retailer exclusive spec. Twilight Time has asked us to stop listing their releases as retailer exclusives going forward since they're now offering their products on two sites. Thanks, everyone.

Isn't 1984 supposed to be in this wave of releases? I'm really looking forward to that!

Super excited about Mysterious Island, really hoping they eventually do encore releases for the Sinbad titles.

Get The Fantastic Films of Ray Harryhausen BD set (region B but I tested each and they play on region A players). You get all three Sinbad movies and Jason and the Argonauts. I'm really ocd when in comes to my Harryhausen BDs and have two copies of each movie. Fyi all the scans are the original Sony scans plus the TT extras I believe are there as well.

I love the new cover with the clear case! Has it been confirmed it's the same scan as the original?

Yep, I'm in for this. So how many "re-releases" does that make? "Fright Night", "Journey To The Center of the Earth", "Mysterious Island", "The Big Heat", "The Train" and I think they also said they're re-releasing "Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia" as well. Am I missing some? Any takers on what other ones will be re-released? "The Blob" would be a no-brainer unless Sony pulls a "Christine" and wants it back. I'm actually hoping for "The Fury", "Body Double", "Wild At Heart" and "Enemy Mine" (missed those first time out, along with "The Train", and don't really want to pay ridiculous EBay prices).

Cool. I missed this when The Train was released the first time. I knew I'd be away on vacation when it was released and didn't want to have it delivered while I was away. By the time I came back, it was sold out. Now I have to decide if I still want it. Not the biggest Frankenheimer fan, but I love a good train story.

Doubt I will double dip. Already have the Arrow release which is basically the same transfer. All of the re-releases of 'limited' editions is really going to hurt all the ebay scalpers. Which is great IMO. I'm sure they will still get a few people paying high prices, but many in the know will just hold out hoping for TT to re-release.

I vote Enemy Mine as a re-release candidate. I missed out on that one.

Wonder when the next signed copy promotion will pop

Cool! I like my Kino DVD just fine--and the movie is terrific--but might pursue this...if I don't get an all-region player.

You should have purchased the movie and written instructions for them to hold shipping until a certain date; I did that when I vacationed in Southern Africa for 25 days and they followed my instructions.

Same for me. I was going away for two weeks last year and emailed SAE with my return date asking them to wait until I got back to ship. They sent an email confirming and did exactly that.

I hate to see others bash them here; in my opinion, SAE gives a personal level of service that is among the best. Sometimes they may be a tad late to ship, and there have been a couple of stretches where every month my orders were taking a week or more past release date to ship (I even commented on the excessive delay a few times), but in the end everything arrived just fine and very well packed. Better packing and care than any other retailer. I still stick with them and am a big fan.

Thanks, I'll do that next time if there is a next time for that situation. Frankly, I didn't foresee the quick sell-out. I thought I had plenty of time. I was wrong.

Spare a thought for international customers. SAE now charge a flat fee of $25 for registered shipping because of 'lost shipments' (never had one go missing previously, but whatever), almost 4 weeks later still waiting for Yorga/Scream & Scream Again. Tracking info stops the moment it leaves the US. Not helpful.

Oh really?
I did a test with adding items in my cart and estimating shipping, but it didn't force me to choose registered.

Maybe I missing a detail from the original post though -- maybe he meant he wanted it to be registered and not SAE required it
It might be territory specific - here's the message you get. The4 charge is in addition to the $10 standard shipping, which puts a regular TT release over $50. It may just be my perception but the 'registered' mail seems to be taking longer than standard, and I don't really want to pay the extra $20 for express.

Back to waiting

At this point, the OOP titles I don't have that I'd definitely, maybe pick up if they were re-issued are:

Definite: The Egyptian and Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines

Maybe: The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, and Enemy Mine.

All of the other OOP titles are ones that I'm not interested in (mostly the horror titles) or already have.

Yeah I kicked myself for having The Egyptian in my cart at SAE for months and never pulling the trigger on it.
