To the list of classic Westerns, I'd add Robert Aldrich's VERA CRUZ, which had a tremendous influence on Spaghetti Westerns.

Speaking of older Westerns, love My Darling Clemetine but it also plays with a childhood memory of MASH

I could see why Burt Lancaster was a top gun-that smile of his would blind the other guy!

I've been on the sidelines for the sale. I only picked up Experiment in Terror. The B&N Criterion sale next month is going to be expensive for me. I blame Criterion and Twilight Time for having so many nice releases this year. Just when I think I'm gaining ground...........

Not sure if its been mentioned but ive just seen this popping up on their site. To do with sharing on Facebook for a 10% off code. Ive not done it, but wondered if anyone had and if it was a generic voucher code that could be shared?

Just with Twilight Time discount vouchers being pretty rare, so thought id ask

It has been discussed here before. If I recall, it is a one-time code and you have to share on FB and place the order at the same time. But don't quote me on that.

By the way, I like your avatar. The Herbs is great. One of my first memories of television gowing up in England.

It's not actually one-time, a member here has reported re-sharing the post and using the code again.

They don't make shows like that anymore heh. Was always watching The Herbs, Pogles Wood, Clangers, Bagpuss, Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley

Stop motion is near on a lost art now. They had a lot of heart shows like that.

The episode in mash they were trying to show the movie and the projector kept breaking. just a classic episode, that made me as a kid want to watch My Darling Clemintine and started my love of westerns.

I'm wondering how quickly Miss Sadie Thompson 3D will sell out, with it being a Rita Hayworth movie and all. I won't be able to pre-order it on Wednesday, and I'll probably be waiting a couple of weeks to pull the trigger.

There's absolutely no history of their non-horror/sci-fi titles selling out quickly, and it seems like even those don't sell out quickly anymore now that the sales became a thing, so I think you will have a year minimum :P

Yeah, anything that isn't a horror movie from the 80's seems to take a while. I want Romeo is Bleeding but I'm waiting until next month to get it with Russia House and save on shipping. There's no immediacy with these kinds of films.

The only exception was The Train, which I think took three months to sell out, but that did not have a DVD release, as I recall.

Wild At Heart and Thunderbolt And Lightfoot also went pretty quick.

I got my copies of The Big Heat and The Remains of the Day in the mail today! I've seen both of the films before on DVD, but I'm excited to see them in HD and comb through the bonus features.

I wouldn't expect that to sell out quickly, even being a Rita Hayworth title. Cover Girl came out four years ago, and it still hasn't hit the LQA list.

Well, if you're talking on the order of three months, there are other exceptions. The Train actually sold out in two months, as did Rollerball and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Wild at Heart sold out in three months. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger are next at four months, followed by Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia at five months.
