My order from the recent sale was seemingly lost by USPS. I contacted Twilight Time and they say that they won't replace the order. Am I being unreasonable in wanting to actually receive the items I paid for? My only other recourse is to eat the cost or file a PayPal dispute.

This has been one of my worst nightmares with USPS. A couple years ago or so I had major issues with USPS losing, delivering to the wrong address, etc. my orders from amazon on a consistent basis but luckily my TT orders came in just fine. Those were the ones I worried about the most due to the limited availability of the titles and not being sure on TT's policy with this situation. Amazon was always great and sent me replacements and now deliver themselves which has been a blessing. It's odd that they are refusing to replace your order though.

They even said that should I expect them to replace the order, they would rather not have me as a customer. This was a $70 order, but I've spent hundreds which them directly in the past and that amount again through Screen Archives on their titles. Really poor customer service on their part to my mind.

Wow! I'm shocked. As far as I know people in the past have been able to get their orders taken care of. I wish I could give you more help on this. I had an issue with Diabolik this year with an order getting lost but it was part of a batch of other orders that got lost. They were great though. I would think they would ask for an order/tracking number or something.

Fill is in on the details. What you mean by seemingly lost by USPS? Was it delivered to the wrong address, was it stolen from your home address, is it just lost in the system somewhere? What does the tracking information say? Have you also filed a complaint with USPS?

USPS has it marked as delivered, but it was never dropped off in my building. So, either misdelivered, stolen by the carrier, or somehow lost in their system and mismarked. It wasn't stolen after delivery or anything like that. I did file a complaint with USPS and hopefully they will be able to locate, although it seems unlikely given past experience with mail in NYC. I made Twilight Time aware of all of this when I initially contacted them. Once they send it out, it is out of their hands and my responsibility, regardless of what may happen with the carrier, according to their customer service.

USPS uses geo tracking with their parcels. They have tracking co-ordinates exactly where the postal employee delivered the package, or says where it was delivered. They don't normally volunteer that information b/c they don't want you knocking on someone's door and b/c delivery drivers sometimes get sloppy and enter several packages at once so they don't have to enter at each stop. But they have this information so they can verify exactly where driver says it was delivered. If it doesn't match up with your address they can and should tell you. File a claim and relay the information to TT if they say there is an address discrepancy. USPS depends on most shippers covering for their errors in shipping but if TT is refusing then USPS should cover your costs once they investigate your claim. The drawback is USPS is not really quick, as opposed to Amazon and other larger companies which will eat the cost and quickly send a replacement. A small company like TT is more at risk to fraudulent claims and maybe less likely to have the resources to eat the initial costs on the hope that USPS eventually locates the pkg and sends it back to TT.

I have found that USPS marks them delivered hours and occasionally days before its delivered. Might be a postal employee marking them early before even getting to the area.

This has happened to me a number of times. How a package can be delivered without actually being delivered beggars belief. And whatever you do, make no attempt to discuss the logic of this with any USPS employee...

At the post office...reliability of the scan depends a lot on who is scanning the package.

The worst ones for this are the ARCs, weekend and holiday employees, which have no access to most technology even advanced scanners.

A regular or a RCA won't scan unless they're at the destination...it takes less than 3 seconds with the new scanners.

Cluster box scans are the worst since a less experienced fill-in employee can put the package in the wrong mail slot....usually, the regular will check the boxes and make sure scans which have not been picked up are in the correct locker or mail slot.

For whatever reason, they don't have the geo tracking information for my package. I assume there was just a misdelivery on their end. Hopefully it does show up, but I'm not counting on it. I don't believe I have coverage through USPS as insurance was not used, but I will investigate. I understand being weary of fraudulent claims, but I'm hardly a one time orderer and prior orders, which I received without issue, were much larger. Honestly, their response has really turned me off Twilight Time. I never import when there is a local version that isn't significantly worse, but I'll likely give Indicator more business in the future and avoid TT.

I'm not gonna lie. I've always been a huge TT supporter as well but your situation has made me very weary of them now.

Is "weary" a cross between "wary" and "leery"?

Haha yeah I used the wrong terminology. I meant more cautious of them.

Moved too slow on The Mad Magician, oh well. So I guess I'll just have to wait until someone else releases it. Gotta have all the classic 50's 3D movies.

Yeah that's why I figured it didn't fit as well as cautious but weary could apply as well.

Did you order from Twilight Time directly or Screen Archives?
