The isolated score is killer and "Murder in Scottsdale" is a great supplement. I'd say the only downside to the disc is that it does use the US censored cut; sure it's only two minor sex scenes but that "pixelation" sticks out like a sore thumb. On a side note; when I re-watched this I like the subtly of how the bright 60s colors gradually desaturate.

My copy of The Way We Were arrived today. This disc was loose inside, but there don't appear to be any scratches. I'll have to test it out to see if it's in order.

So, I've just put in the disc and the main menu appears to be frozen. I can't click on anything--I don't even get a cursor. Does anyone else have this problem with the disc? Should I even try to contact SAE about it, especially since it's an OOP disc?

Why wouldn't you if it's not working?

Did you try it in another player? Or even eject it from your machine and put it back in again?

Some of the earlier Twilight Time discs did have some strange authoring issues that caused them to not be playable in certain players.

My copy of "The Front" acts exactly as your copy of "The Way We Were" when I try to play it in my Xbox One (loads to menu, but no cursor to navigate or start the movie. just frozen), however, as soon as I tried it in a PS4... No issues.

I may obviously be wrong, but I'm inclined to think yours is a similar situation.

Well, if it's an out-of-print title, I'd figure there probably wouldn't be too many options for getting a replacement. Still, I guess it wouldn't hurt to contact SAE. This is also my only player, so there's no double-checking on another to see if it would work there.

I was thinking it might have something to do with an authoring issue. My early Fox titles used to be unplayable until I did a firmware update and now they play just fine. There was an update on my player, but that didn't seem to help.

Well, wouldn't you know it, I'm also having problems with a disc! I bought PICNIC brand-new from a guy off Amazon for 56 euros plus another 26 for customs, and the damn thing won't play properly! After I put in the disc the screen goes black and doesn't move from there, even if I press every button on the remote. I tested it on a Sony BDP SX-1 and a Sony BDP SX-6700 and both times it's the same result. Any ideas?

Sorry to ask the obvious, but are you sure it is an original TT disc and not a bootleg? Some TT titles have been bootlegged - especially in Spain.

Did the seller have a refund policy?

Also, where are you located? A quick search of amazon.com indicates you could pick up a Like New copy from a seller with 100% feedback for $30 (about 26EUR) before shipping.

It sure seemed like an original disc, I honestly have no idea what may be the problem besides a defective disc, since I've actually had a great experience purchasing sold out TT titles, and anything like this never happened (only time was a copy of Buddy Holly Story whose case was broken and I easily replaced).

It seems I'll be able to return it, so I only have a couple questions before I do anything:
1. I saw some other users further up the thread talk about authoring issues with early TT titles, so if any other user who owns PICNIC sees my post please tell me if that is one of the "problematic" titles, so I can maybe try to send it to TT to replace a defective disc.
2.How can I tell whether the title may be a bootleg?

Sorry I can't help you specifically as I don't own this title. Hopefully, someone can weigh in on the authoring issue. Or maybe email TT directly?

I unwittingly purchased a Spanish bootleg of Bell, Book and Candle thinking it was a domestic release as it had a different cover - only to find out later that it was a copy of the OOP TT disc with different sleeve artwork. Then I think I read somewhere that TT artwork has also been copied. As you own other TT titles I'd start by comparing disc and packaging quality (printing, materials, etc.) to see if there are any red flags.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the disc is the real deal, as is the case and booklet, since I compared it with my copy of Desiree (released around the same time), and there seemed to be no difference. If no one mentions any authoring issues I think i'll just return it and seek out a cheaper copy.

If it helps; Sony did release an official release in Spain.

That's one that I could kick myself in the head for missing out on when it was still available from SAE. I own it now, only because I paid a little extra for it on eBay after it was sold out.

Okay Twilight Timers, I've got a question. I have dozens upon dozens of Twilight Time titles and we recently welcomed a baby. My wife has this crazy idea that this baby needs its own room so I need to clear some things out. I've got vinyl records piling up in one corner, boxes of books stacked in another, and I'm slowly trying to whittle down my collection of Blu-rays. I have lots of sealed and unopened titles including many of the sold out titles as well as a few of the promotional Blus with the signed booklet.
What is the best way to go about selling these? I'm putting together a list of what I have but I don't know if I want to sell them off piece by piece or just unload them in a massive go.
Consequently, if there are any titles that anyone needs to complete their collection, I am more than happy to sell some to members here before I put them online. Cheers!

Whatever route you take, I would recommend not selling them in lots... you will earn more money by selling them individually as collectors won't want to be stuck with titles they already have if they're after a few they need to complete their collection and will pay more to obtain those.

The difficulty I have with selling things is making enough money to cover shipping, without charging three times what it'd cost to buy a brand new copy. Less likely to be an issue with TT releases than with generic studio releases though, I guess.

I definitely agree. In the past I've purchased lots on eBay and ended up with (at one time) four copies of Breaking Away. I'm looking to sell anywhere from 80-100 titles so there's no way that someone wouldn't end up with duplicates if I listed them all at once.

I went there but didn't see a TT-specific forum but I will still probably end up exploring that option. Apart from the handful of desirable OOP titles that I still have, I don't know how easy it will be to get rid of these in a timely fashion.

If you're looking to get rid of them quickly AND get full value, or close to it, for those OOP titles, Ebay would be your best bet.
