Usually I open/check for physical defects and then run them through on fast forward once. I only had one Twilight Time disc that was defective, and was able to get a replacement from SAE.

I open them as well and check for defects and scratches, but don't put them in the player. The Lady Vanishes had no signs of scratches or defects but it was defective.

Of all the bonehead comments that dude made, I'd seen worse than the one that got him banned. I agree with your second point there, I have noticed in the past that some reps on these forums get ultra defensive even when confronted with constructive criticism or legit concerns. That's just the nature of the beast when dealing with the public. Try working in a service job where you have to put up with all that noise in person!

Ironically, the 'TT insider' left this forum years ago when people were giving him and their label a hard time about NOTLD. He said the same thing, that info will be solely on FB and that they will never return to post here. Strangely, they came back. Maybe to help stir up business, as if I remember, they returned after they launched their own website. Who knows... But the 'TT insider' may return one day......

Too bad it's come to this. I don't know how one dude could do all this damage. People have every right to post positive and negative feedback in a calm and constructive manner but that guy just was a wack job. I totally understand why TT feels the way they do but don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. Man, I need some adult beverages if I'm quoting the Osmonds

Just received my sale order, taking my modest TT collection to 15 titles since last August. Especially pleased to have picked up Judgment at Nuremberg before it heads off to OOP land. A blind buy, but a film I've heard good things about for years and have no doubt will prove a wise purchase.

"One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch girl"

Reminds me of a easy $50 on a bet I made about 12 years ago. A co worker was so sure that it was The Jacksons that did that song. I told him it was The Osmonds and he wanted to bet our paychecks. I wasn't going to do that to him besides he wouldn't have paid anyway. So we agreed on $50. He was so sure. 100 percent sure. It was the days before easy internet to get instant results. I had to bring in the 45 record the next day and he still insisted the Jacksons did the song. A couple of days later I played a cassette on a boom box and he handed over the $50. A few weeks later he quit. He had been there for over 10 years. I haven't seen him since. I guess losing that bet was just one bad apple too many.

I am feeling my age, as I had to look this up. I have never heard of that term. Internet slang really makes communication even more difficult than it already is these days....

Anyways, I am of the belief that, as a professional, you should be able to handle the detractors with common sense. Especially is the case in the business TT is in. In this case, it seems that did not happen. Isn't that why the ignore button is on this site and should have been used prior to the outburst. The TT insider even stated that he knew this nut, and I quote " one of the biggest adversaries of our label." Just seems a professional would try to stay away from irrational behavior, but that's just me. As I stated before though, they 'took their ball and went home' years ago too, so we will see. Money has a strange way of making things better and this site, I believe, generates a lot of that for this company.

Was it about the NOTLD ones??? I thought it was almost a year later when they complained that our resident TT reviewer wasn't giving them a fair shake so they stopped giving Screeners to Br.com and did the "take your ball and go home thing". If there was a NOTLD incident that makes THREE times the TT insider has backed out

As some of you may have noticed, my rank has changed. I have now been made a moderator. This change in status has been in the works for weeks and not related to the events of yesterday. The timing of it taking effect is coincidental, but is nevertheless opportune.

What happened yesterday was unfortunate and, to be honest, makes me pretty freakin' mad after having spent three years diligently updating this thread, keeping members informed about upcoming releases, passing on information, and sharing my thoughts and love of classic films with fellow movie fans. It has been a privilege and I have had the good fortune to interact with many of you in the process.

One of the joys of the past three years since I volunteered to take over this thread has been the efforts of myself, other moderators, and members here to foster a place where we can all gather and discuss the kinds of films released by TT. New discoveries such as Rapture have been a highlight of my love of cinema and it was thanks to TT that I discovered this wonderful film and others in the TT catalog. Twilight Time has had a somewhat temperamental relationship with Blu-ray.com in the past for reasons I am not privy to and really don't care. Since then there have been great strides made to repairing frayed relationships. I'd like to think this thread had a positive effect in the healing process that slowly got TT to interact again with us here. Twilight Time did not post frequently, but over time they dipped their toes in here periodically and I hope found the water inviting. All it took was one jerk of a member, and maybe a few other thoughtless posts, to ruin it for everyone. The worst part is having TT say they will no longer visit this thread, which they have done all along even when not posting actively.

I should not have to write a post like this and frankly hate doing it. I can only keep doing what I have done and hope TT changes their minds in the future. Blu-ray.com has a huge membership. It may be asking too much to expect everyone to be civil to each other and especially to industry insiders who choose to interact with us here, to self-moderate posts, to understand when crossing a line between good natured joking and outright insult, to not post continuously negative comments in a thread designed for sharing and respectful conversation, and to understand that debate and criticism are part of that interaction when done in moderation and in a healthy environment where a sense of humor is highly valued. Endless complaining, negativity, rudeness, being a jerk post after post, are all destructive behaviors that tear down the house we have built here as a community. I will not allow this house to be torn down.
