And we're "Rapture cheerleaders" because it is a tremendous film that deserves what praise it receives.
It is not a cost issue. I do not think it is a film most people want to own. Not that they think it is a bad film, but because they do not find it interesting enough. The biggest TT selling titles have been genre films, either horror/Sci Fi, comedy or action. Rapture is in the same league as Fat City, A Month in the Country, Swamp Water, Member of the Wedding and the upcoming Bobby Deerfield. It is a small intimate film that appeals only to die hard film enthusiasts.

I don't think it's close to selling out it's just selling briskly right now. I think we would get a low quantity update if that were the case

There are less than 250 copies available on the TT website. Don't know how many have been allocated to SAE though (Hope it's enough because that's where I have my order in).

Honestly don't know why Fox didn't release this themselves years ago. It's clearly as popular a general catalog title as something like Working Girl which they did see fit to self release. The thought that this is soon going to be unavailable for at least three more years is ...head shaking and sigh inducing.

Usually Twilight Time allocates more copies for SAE, So I'll be more worried when we get a low quantity alert from them.

I'll need to watch it again sometime (which I can do since I haven't sold it off since I wouldn't get much for it since there is so little interest in it).
While I didn't think it was a bad film, I really struggled to understand the enormous amount of love and affection for it.

I'll give it another shot in a few years. Maybe it will click with me then. Wouldn't be the first time something I dismissed on first viewing played substantially different on a second years down the line.

Very cool cover for Runaway Train.

Have to admit I'm shocked that 9 to 5 is selling like it is. I really didn't think people remembered it let alone wanted it.

Me too, but just in case, went ahead and ordered it (from SAE).

Forgot to select media mail though.

I wish they would design a cover that really shows how "runaway" this train is. I'm just not feeling it.

I've been planning on getting 9 to 5, but I had wanted to wait until the next signed promo to put in an order. I already bit earlier than I wanted to when Song of Bernadette and High Time were about to sell out and with the imminent loss of rights to American Buffalo. Suddenly there's all this urgency and stress and it doesn't help that they're releasing all these runaway train movies.

Who knows? If it sells briskly then it could become another Christine and the studio may decide to mass release it after all.

I know American Buffalo is going OOP tomorrow, September 12, but will you still be able to order it until 11:59 PM tomorrow, or is today the last day to place an order?

As suspected, TT's Runaway Train doesn't have a patch on Arrow's loaded edition. Will go that route if I ever decide I want to upgrade my DVD.

Fantastic film though for those who are considering it.

To prepare myself on the last day of decision, I loaned a copy of American Buffalo from the library. Even at $10 + shipping, I wasn't gonna blind buy so easily until I know for sure it's a film I'll gladly own beyond its inherent value.

For the first 30 minutes, I was certain it wasn't, but afterwards, I'm not sure. Once the dialogue gets into the nitty-gritty, relatively speaking, with the sole three characters exchanging wordplay that exhibits personal philosophy and bile frankness through impeccable use of repetition, somehow this little film got me glued in. That's the Mamet Magic, I suppose.

I wonder if Mindwarp will go below $14.95...

Do titles sold on TT's site ever go below that?

Nice Runaway Train art. Can't justify a $30 purchase when I own the Arrow though.
