The Disappearance (1977) starring Donald Sutherland (in his goggle-eyed existential magnificence), Francine Racette (as his fictional as well as real-life wife), as well as David Warner, John Hurt, Christopher Plummer, and Virginia McKenna might be in my top ten of releases by TT. For anyone with a taste for sordid 70s cinema with a touch of the Twilight Zone, The Disappearance is recommended.

Default Two for the Road (1967) starring Audrey Hepburn

This one flew under my radar. Apparently TT said awhile ago that they have this and will release it in 2017. Don't recall this being mentioned yet.

Per a post on TT's Facebook in response to a question......

Coming from Twilight Time in 2017, the wonderful Two for the Road, starring Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney, directed by Stanley Donen with music by Henry Mancini.

I recall them saying Kiss of Death and Peyton Place also being prepped for 2017. Fallen Angel must be in queue as well and I hope Dragonwyck is too

OILDUDE:

Good news about the blu-ray TWO FOR THE ROAD. I have it on dvd....now I hope someone releases the original soundtrack.
Sony released a remastered TWO FOR THE ROAD as part of their Henry Mancini anniversary cd collection two years ago and it sounded inferior to the original RCA cd from 1998.

Any of the movies releasing Wednesday a threat to sell out prior to the November preorder date? I'd rather make a big order when Moby Dick is available. I don't believe MD will last too long.

I doubt it. And I don't think there's any reason why Moby Dick will be a particularly fast seller. Other than 80s horror films, nothing sells out in less than two months. And even non-horror titles selling out in two or three months isn't all that common: it's happened only five times (Journey to the Center of the Earth original issue, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Wild at Heart, Rollerball, and The Train). Even the horror titles selling faster than that has only happened five times: Fright Night both issues, Night of the Living Dead, Christine, and The Blob).

So that's only ten titles selling out in three months or less, out of about 230 releases.

I'd honestly be surprised if Moby Dick sold out in three years, but I've been wrong before.

I saw some pics of the restoration work done on Moby Dick and thought it looked great. I've heard the existing bd isn't too good so there's always a chance a classic like this might sell well. But then again there have been some TT titles I thought would never sell out and have and a few I can't believe are still around so who knows?

I don't have a ton of TT releases but The Disappearance is my favorite by far. Such an excellent movie.

Yeah. Now that there are occasional sales, people aren't as hopped up about getting things ASAP.

It has reduced the urgency for a lot of titles, but that's what happens when your catalog grows, you end up with stock piles of unsold stock, and the only way to reduce it is by having a sale to increase your cash flow.

Great news about Two for the Road and I'm also excited for Peyton Place. Now if someone could get Roman Holiday out I'd be over the moon.

Maybe Sony will do a wide release like they did for Christine.

Or they could go the other way with it and put it into their new "BD-R" program like they did with "Body Double"...

There's no chance in hell that Moby Dick will be a fast sell out. That's no slight on the film itself or the quality of the restoration, it's just simply not the type of title that sells out quickly. The only title that has ever taken me for surprise as a quick sell-out was The Train.

Quite likely. Maybe that new UK label with all the Sony stuff will put it out.
