I've never seen The Mechanic despite being a big Bronson fan, so I'm looking forward to it. The Jason Statham remake didn't leave a lasting impression despite being worth a look.
The Mechanic is fantastic. One my favourite, if not my absolute favourite, Bronson films. It's got a great plot with some interesting twists. It's got some good chase sequences but is more plot and character driven. The long opening sequence is amazing.

Under Fire was a blind-buy when I got it (actually, it was a signed promo) but I was curious about it because a snippet of its wonderful Jerry Goldsmith score is on the Django Unchained soundtrack. I had always thought it was some dumb action movie but when I actually watched it I thought it was a brilliant political thriller. Another great gem I discovered that I was pleased with.

I thought the Mechanic had been sold out for awhile.

Although I have yet to receive an email notification from SAE, my sale copy of RAPTURE now has a tracking number on their website.

However, my SAE preorder for THE BOSTON STRANGLER and PRETTY POISON is still "Pending" as of this writing.

I like Jason Statham and his remake sucked big time!!! The original is far superior--- don't expect big action sequences... it's a fairly low key crime drama with a terrific ending---- Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent in top form!

Got my sale titles today. Pretty fast turnaround for SAE during a sale. Impressed.

It was declared sold out on 11/17. Presumably, Keymaster placed his order that included it on the 16th.

Me too...I thought there were 450 copies left when I checked before the 1st 7 for 70 deal, before the additional titles were added. So maybe it was only 45..

Anyone know if they are going to still release Drunken Master and Snake in the Eagles Shadow through Twilight Time?

My regret is that I got into blu-rays after a lot of TT's titles sold out. There are a handful I really want, and can't get without paying through the nose. Among them, Bell, Book and Candle, Wild at Heart (thankfully I was able to get the import), Leave Her to Heaven (#1 on my want list), and As Good as it Gets. The Criterion list is longer. Thankfully, The Big Heat was reissued. I'm hoping some of the others will, as well.

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody at Twilight Time. Thank you guys for issuing so many great movies that otherwise might never get a proper high definition release.

Today I watched my copy of Philadelphia.

I'd forgotten how powerful and heartwrenching this film is. Saw it a couple times throughout the 90's but hadn't seen it in the last 15 years; it was an exceptionally moving experience (again) and, it being Thanksgiving, the film felt even more powerful and appropriate to the meaning of the holiday. I think I'll make watching this film my annual Thanksgiving tradition going forward.

PQ was excellent but I thought it was a little dark. I'll turn the contrast up next time I view the film but I thought it looked a little too dark to be just a fluke.

I'm shocked that a great movie like Inherit the Wind is still available.

Glad I grabbed a copy. Not a great movie and nothing I really cared to own but for $8 you pretty much have to, if only to see two of the premier American actors in their age group tackle such heady subject matter (I maintain though that Dallas Buyer's Club is a better-crafted, better-acted movie on the same subject matter.)

Also stoked that it came in TT's trademark "clear" case, which looks so much classier than the traditional blue one.
