On another webpage TT indicated they were releasing this in August.

An expanded remake of Japan's Longest Day, the movie depicts the chain of command of Imperial Japan's government, military, and war council under Hirohito in the immediate period before the surrender of Japan in World War II between April 1945 to August 15, 1945, chronicling Kantarō Suzuki's term as the Prime Minister and the final months of War Minister Korechika Anami, the Allied firebombing of Tokyo on May 25, preparations for Operation Ketsugō, the leadership's response to the Potsdam Declaration and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and a failed military coup intended to foil Japan's declaration of surrender.

I finally got around to watching The 3 Worlds of Gulliver and all I can say is WOW. I always thought it was the "weakest" entry into the Harryhausen pantheon in both story and visuals but this scan (4k?) puts it as one of the best looking and probably the best overall video upgrade of any RH movie so far. Warner also does an excellent job in their HD scans so I have high hopes for the eventual bd release of The Valley of Gwangi, which I think has the second worst video presentation of a Harryhausen film.

That one's on my list for the next sale. I actually just watched my copy of Journey to the Center of the Earth a week ago and really enjoyed it. After the first run sold out and everyone here raved about it I decided to blind buy the reissue and am glad that I did.

The "Appassionata" Blu-ray has a curious subtitle problem: some of the subtitles appear as "???" instead of English words. I asked TT and they said the subs were made by the people who licensed the film to TT. Apparently the problem can't be fixed since TT can only use what was given to them. TT also told me that in the future they would only make their own subtitles.

The "???" appears at the following times during playback: 00:17:29, 00:35:06, 01:03:34, 01:06:06, 01:07:33, 01:27:32. Since there are not that many, can someone fluent in Italian care to offer translations for these?

Yeah, I reported this earlier, right after the disc was released. This sucks as the English audio was pretty weak (if I remember correctly).

Shame that the 7 for $70 offerings are almost exactly the same as the last promo.

There may be seven I'm sort of interested in, but after dropping almost $200 on last year's big sale, I dunno if I want to go back for more. If they had offered a completely different batch of sale titles, I'd be more interested.

How long is the sale running for?

There's only two of them in the sale that I don't have - SAVE YOUR LEGS and RITA, SUE, AND BOB, TOO. And the first of those two is also on sale for $9.99 at Twilight Time's website. I guess I'll sit this one out.

Yeah, I'm kind of tapped out too. I bit on the last round of 7 for 7 and then about a month after that was that big sale and at this point it would be just buying for the sake of buying. It makes me wonder if now that TT have been putting more stuff on sale if it's bit them in the ass and sales are down, forcing them to put on more sales just to get stuff out the door.
