Arrow released it in the UK so they might do a quick US release, though I kinda feel like it wouldn't be worth it to them if 3,000 were already sold in the US.

That's the logic, but almost all films that TT released & 3 years have been lapsed for have not been rereleased by another label...

When 3,000 or so copies were already sold it would take a damn good incentive for another label to release it again.

Added Lilies of the Field and Mississippi Burning for $30.12 delivered. I wasn't taking any more chances on Mississippi Burning being sold out, and $10 for Poitier's Academy Award-winning performance was just too good to pass up. A simple, yet beautiful film that is oft overlooked. Mr. Poitier has long been an inspiration to me, and I can't wait to have this in high def.

I know their business model is predicated on 3,000 copies but it's sad to me that these great movies don't have a much higher demand.

Perhaps only selling their titles through 2 outlets has something to do with it. Not criticizing TT or saying they could do otherwise but if someone goes on-line to buy a certain title on Blu-ray that happens to be a Twilight Time title, it often means only going to Amazon. Doing that will of course show it as being extraordinarily expensive as the prices are marked up due to being sold by 3rd party vendors and most will refrain from buying and search no more.

It's a combination of factors; The titles they sell, the way they sell them, the price they ask. When they release something from a genre and time that sells more on disc they sell out quite fast. They usually don't sell the types of movies that sell well though, which, to their credit, was their design in the first place, from what I have read. All their stuff, even the sellouts, would do better on Amazon for $20, but they would get less profit per sale.

Just curious, what are the 3 most special TT movies you have in your collection? Mine are

The Wayward Bus
Conrack
Swamp Water

Those I listed are special to me because they have never been released on DVD in the U.S. before. And although The Wayward Bus isn't 'quite' as good a movie as the other two (although for me it's very interesting because of the cast and the rural setting, and the commentary track is very interesting too), it's the most unique of all because it hasn't been released in any format anywhere other than the TT version! Anyway, just wanted to give a shoutout to TT for bringing these movies (and many others) to Blu-ray.

In Like Flint as it was my first TT purchase and opened the floodgates; Thunderbolt and Lightfoot as it's one of my favourite Clint Eastwood films which was elusive for so long on disc and never in anamorphic before that; and the Tony Rome double feature as, again, I love the films and it's cool that they did a double feature.

I also appreciate the offbeat stuff they do as well. I recently watched Bonjour Tristesse which I picked up in the December sale. It's not something I would usually go out of my way to see but it was a very interesting film.

Edit: I meant Our Man Flint... always getting them mixed up but I remember OMF was released one month before the other or I WOULD have bought them both at the same time.

The Disappearance (first TT title I bought/watched)
Support Your Local Sheriff/Support Your Local Gunfighter (I'm a cheapskate and enjoyed getting both of these together for $15)
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (for the quality of the movie alone)

Good question. TT have had a lot of great releases. Our Man Flint, In Like Flint, and Rollerball were my first purchases. Those releases got me to dive in pretty deep into more TT titles.

Since then, I've gotten turned on to a lot of great movies I'd never seen before. The Driver, Used Cars, and The Blob are probably my favorites among that group. I've watched those BDs a bunch of times.

Three I'm partial to are "The Disappearance", "Cutter's Way", and "Inserts". They're three gems that have kind of gotten lost in the ether over the years, but TT gave them nice releases and allowed cinephiles to discover or re-discover them. I really appreciate how many obscure, overlooked gems they release.

I have more than three. But some more special than others

A Man For All Seasons
World of Henry Orient
The Blue Max
Bye Bye Birdie
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines
Born Yesterday
Inherit the Wind

Obviously I like mid 60's films the most

I only have five but I'm very happy to have All the King's Men (and to a slightly lesser extent Born Yesterday).

It's difficult to choose, but I'll go with...

The Big Heat
Breaking Away
Journey to the Center of the Earth

Leave Her to Heaven is another huge favorite.

Although it's not as good as the above titles in terms of movie content, I probably have the most sentimental attachment to The Believers, because I used to watch that film all of the time back in high school.

I have a lot of still-unwatched Twilight Time titles, so this list could change tomorrow.
