The Indicator box set lists region-free status, so Sony is apparently not too concerned about these titles.

The movie itself is pretty slight, but both of the leads define charming. It's not on the same level as Two for the Road (which I thought had some of Audrey's best acting), but it's more fun to watch.
How To Steal a Million is a good example of a movie where I would not buy it from any other label. I like it, but it's on the cusp, I think I'd always have other titles I'd want more at any given time from any given sale. But with Twilight Time, knowing it's a limited release and that by the next time I actually want to watch the movie, it will be sold out and likely not easily available, I'll likely buy it the first time there's a sale on it. I guess I've totally bought into their business model.

Sony and Fox have already licensed many 4k titles to Twilight Time. That would not be an issue.

Maybe not but Twilight Time would have the only 4k single disc edition. That will sell 3,000 copies.

I made my first-ever Indicator Blu-ray order this past week by ordering their releases of The Big Heat and The Lady from Shanghai.

The Twilight Time encore edition of The Big Heat is pretty much perfect already, but the idea that there's even a marginally better presentation of Gloria Grahame in the bedroom just scratches at the back of my mind like nails on a chalkboard. It's one of my favorite movies ever, so it's good to have two editions.

I forgot to include the words "in the same market" in my initial reply as I thought it should be understood... My point was that it is the same title.

Yes, Brad is correct -- TT has no plans to release any title already issued on Blu in North America by another company -- there are too many other titles with no release as yet on Blu to consider!

I hope that you are looking at additional films directed by Ronald Neame. Criterion presumably still has the two I'd most want, but he still has plenty of good films besides those.

Honestly a 4k remaster for a movie I love excites me more than a release of a movie I don't. I know many others disagree though.

Neither does a lack of support for a format they created (blu ray), but Sony does it any way.

Well, this is a company that still keeps on carrying over irritating glitches and annoyingly user-unfriendly features from BD players they were manufacturing seven years ago on their latest models as standard rather than just fix them...

They helped to create it, it's not a Sony format (some leftover HD DVD propaganda there?)

Panasonic (who has the most patents), Pioneer, and Philips were also there in the beginning.

I certainly agree with you.
"The 7th Voyage of Sinbad" is a movie that needs a remaster, and I am excited that such has apparently happened.

I would buy from Twilight Time if a single disc was offered (although they have said that since Sony still has their older release available that Twilight Time will not release the new 4K).

Yep. It's too bad in this case. I'm expecting the new 4k restoration of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad to be as huge an upgrade as the Fox 4k upgrade of Journey to the Center of the Earth.

What does any of this have to do with their lack of support for the format?

Created it 100% or helped to create it. What difference does that make? They were involved with the development of blu ray.

At least the UK edition will be region-free. If it were locked that would be a huge bummer. There's also a chance of course Sony will put it out here themselves, they did release 7th Voyage on their own before.
