I paid around 90 dollars for an OOP copy of TT's first release of MYSTERIOUS ISLAND. I didn't even have a Blu-ray deck when it first came out, so it was long gone by the time I got my first player (actually a US Sony Playstation 3).

That's because they only license through Sony, who don't care. Same with Sony's licenses to Twilight Time. If Indicator dive into MGM, Fox or other studios then they will start locking when they have to, same as Arrow.

![]() ![]() I don't know how or why I've missed seeing All the King's Men for all of these years, having heard about it since the 1970s, but anyway I finally watched it last night. Excellent picture quality on this Twilight Time disc. This political film noir is at times almost horrifying. As Julie Kirgo writes at the end of her perceptive essay: "The people, in this film, are not the villains; rather, it's the manipulators of the people—those who use them to satisfy their own lust for power—who are the true evil. It's a message that, forceful in its own day, perhaps has even more weight in our own." Recommended. Last edited by benbess; 08-26-2017 at 03:14 PM. |

I found out that at SAE that the following titles that are the 7 for $70 list at SAE are 150 - less than 100 remaining depending on the title . I was not told exact numbers as they said they would not disclose exacts.
I imagine some of these could go somewhat faster now . Mindwarp Beloved Infidel Conrack Rapture Desiree I am thinking of picking up Desiree , Conrack & Mindwarp as I do not own those . |

I just double checked and SAE seems to charge US customers more ($1.55) for each additional disc than Canadians ($0.95). |

Ahh, I forgot SAE only gave you that option on the last screen prior to confirmation and they don't list it on the shipping rates page.

Not sure if anyone else here is a fan of CinemaRetro magazine? I pick up every issue, and also their Movie Classics specials (from B&N). The new Movie Classics (#6) is dedicated to a selection of WWII movies of the Sixties - some very well-known, and others a little more obscure.
It features a very interesting article on André De Toth's 1968 picture Play Dirty, starring Michael Caine, and produced by Harry Saltzman of Bond fame (an upcoming TT release). Interestingly, the film originally starred Richard Harris, and was to be directed by René Clément. However, shortly after filming commenced, Harris fell out with Saltzman and Clément over the script and departed. De Toth then stepped in to direct in addition to his role as Executive Producer. Will be a blind-buy for me, and one of the few Caine films I've yet to see. Also covered in the issue is The Train, The Guns of Navarone, Von Ryan's Express, and The Battle of the Bulge, plus, the excellent Heroes of Telemark (crying out for a BD release!), and a host of others. If you enjoy WWII films, I heartily recommend this issue. http://www.cinemaretro.com/index.php...-SIXTIES!.html Last edited by Reddington; 08-28-2017 at 10:08 PM. |

![]() I agree it would be nice if they carried them also. I've bought over 10 from TT and it is ridiculous watching the shipping rates go up each time you add another one to the cart. Especially absurd when using media mail as it would take a super large order to get to "another pound" range where the shipping costs would actually got up a little bit. |
