I thought I was gonna sit this one out, but ended up going for Where the Sidewalk Ends, Devil in a Blue Dress, and Stormy Weather (The last of which sold out under my nose at TT's site! Had to switch my order to SAE.)

Per this sale anyone interested only 31 x copies of the Cowboy remain at SAE .
No copies of this at twilight time . Looks to be the 1st sell out title from this sale soon.

For what it's worth, Cowboy is still available for order at the Twilight Time website. I just added it to my cart and was invited to check out. The email they sent out announcing the sale did indicate that the title is on "backorder," as are Cutter's Way and The Hospital.

I'm just appreciative that there is the occasional sale; I've purchased my fair share at full price. I remember a time when TT didn't do sales and who knows how long TT will continue to release titles. I recall, if my memory serves me correctly, Nick Redman stating that they never originally imagined TT operating for as long as they have given the state of physical media.

I think they got more stock. When I bought Cowboy two months ago, it was not on TT's site. Neither was The Hospital.

The backorder titles seem to be ones that were previously only on SAE after selling out on TT, but they are restocking them for the sale.

Is it possible that they restocked after the previous sale and you only just noticed it now? I am just guessing that maybe they set aside a certain number to sell at the sale price.

TT and SAE seem to share and transfer certain title b/w them so likely a redistribution of the some of the titles from one to the othet. Some things seem to be SAE only and never get shared.

A couple strange titles that jump out.
At Close Range (only at TT) is the only older title listed at 19.95. All th others from around that month are 6.95/9.95.

Captain from Castile - 29.95 at SAE, 19.95 at TT. It's the only disc so far that appears to be a different price b/w the sites

Is there a way to know how many copies of a given title remain at SAE?

Add the item to your cart. Go to the cart and change the quantity to 50 and update the cart.

It should give you the exact number of copies available if the number is under fifty. If it's fifty or over it will just stay at fifty.

Cheers. Not ideal, seeing as it only goes up to 50, but probably safe enough.

Does anyone know how they price their shipping? Ordering internationally, so if there's a hefty initial price with a small per-item price it makes sense to grab as much as possible.

Shipping depends on the country... SAE is significantly cheaper than TT, however, TT was “customs friendly” the last time I ordered while SAE marks the full amount.

For example, I think B&N charge something like $8 per order, then $0.99 per item. So the more items you order at once the cheaper shipping is on a per-item basis. Not sure if SAE is like that, or a more even spread in which case only ordering a couple of items would be okay.

SAE to Australia is $10 for first disc and $2.50 per additional disc. Eg 5 discs is $20 shipping (which is my sweet spot for ordering).

I'm interested in Edge of Eternity, Where the Sidewalk Ends and Don't Bother to Knock. Was thinking about just grabbing the older two since Knock is still up there in price, but yeah at $10 per order for shipping it's cheaper in the long run to grab all three. And then hope I don't later on decide I want something else...

I'm probably going to have to pass on this sale. Too many other things taking up simoleons these days. Among other things, I just ordered a bunch of sale MOC titles from Eureka, and picked up a bunch of Criterions from B&N (I still need to get the Bergman set, if I can manage it).

Plus, my wife and I are buying a house...
