Blocky Low Res Grain, SD like Detail, Very Bad Edge Enhancement, DNR only on the faces!!!, with the backgrounds having the blocky grain. This is the poster child for how a film can be destroyed by a crap transfer. I am hopeless for a good release, as bloody Universal has the rights in the US and Studio Canal used the same transfer all over the world.
The HD DVD is still the best choice. It looks fantastic and has lossless audio.

The Dark Knight trilogy box set. I am referring to the UK set but I assume the US one is the same. It is so cheaply made and looks/feels so weak and fragile. Great films though.

Had to read through the thread to make sure I didn't post in here already & I'm going to rant because I don't think I've really ranted about this movie

Where the Wild Things Are.
Blind buy, mostly for the kids & I got it for $5.43 during U&S. Horrible, loathsome movie. Currently in my top 2 of most hated movies I've ever watched.

You know what makes me hate it even more? When people say I hate it because I didn't "get it". Somebody actually told me I just didn't "get it", I wasn't expecting how dark the movie was going to be, it's an adult movie disguised as a movie for kids.

You could say the same about Pan's Labyrinth for the most part & that is my 2nd favorite movie of all time.

I got it, with it's symbolism & wild thing representation & blah blah blah. It's a boring turd of a movie & whether or not I "got it" wouldn't change that.

Also, if my son ran away from home, I would have whooped his ass, not given him cake. Just saying...

Timecop - Didn't even want it, but it came with Bloodsport.
Twilight films - belong to my wife.
Of course you do. Still doesn't make them good movies, despite any of your skewed logic, and it still makes your taste questionable, since mine is as well.

The Descendants - I was bored to tears in this film. And I loved Sideways and About Schimdt.

Taken - just wasn't much story to it. I felt taken (pun intended)

I love Sideways, About Schmidt & The Descendants...

P.S.: What's up with About Schmidt on Blu-ray? Is this ever going to happen?

You have to learn to stay away from obvious chick flicks.

Actually, some of us find value in taking care of a good friend. So again, I reiterate, not a total loss. Thanks for your input though.

Disney movies.

For me, they have no replay value. They're more intended for families and dudes who have a lot of female friends coming over.

Yeah.

The ladies love it when I pull my DVD of Something Wicked This Way Comes out of the stack.
Also, The Black Hole. That one works like a charm every time. The ladies love Maximilian.

If you really want to score points with the top-notch females, then Darby O'Gill and the Little People is the way to go. Especially if you're trying to impress an Irish girl.

I held off buying T3 because it had lossy audio.
How could the studio put out a Terminator movie without lossless audio?

Then I discovered the UK version of T3 with lossless audio.
So I imported it.

Only movie I have sold from my collection is Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Now, I'm not saying its a bad movie or anything, just one of those cases where I got it for $5 from toys r us and in reflecting on the purchase I realized I bought it solely to have a more "complete" library of movies. I kept staring at it and thinking I was never going to watch it. Sold it and used the money to buy I movie I wanted

I like the movies, don't get me wrong. But they're the kind of movies where one viewing is satisfying for me. No need for multiple viewings. But that's just me.
