Man oh man. Reading some of these posts, I can't believe there are actually poeple out there who think these films are even okay, let alone good. Sure, the first one was watchable, but as a whole (heck, even individually) I rate them barely above crap. Games should never be made into movies.

I hope they bring back "Jill Valentine" back as well, thought she was going to
be in the last one. I really liked the first two but as soon as I saw ashanti in it
I knew it wasn't going to be as good. I also thought the head of Umbrella was
very bland, they could have done better. Milla still looks amazing in the clip.

I'm in. Saw the trailer, got hyped that they included so many RE5 characters. Although I will agree that RE1-3 were terrible. Maybe this one will be slightly better.

I just watched the new Resident Evil: Afterlife trailer. I knew I would probably be confused by some plot points mentioned during the trailer since I've only seen the first Resident Evil but what I ended up seeing in the trailer strarted good, then just turned to crap.

First the good: Milla is in the film and she's hot.

So-so: It's in 3d. I like 3d films but for a lower budget type of film, it's seems out of place that the first three are regular 2d then the fourth is in 3d. It's also really annoying to later watch a 3d movie in 2d at home because of the gimmicky throw a projectile at the screen sequences.

The bad: I know I haven't seen 2 and 3 but #4 makes the first movie look completely out of place and like I was watching two completely different franchises.

The Ugly: After a promising first half of the trailer, the movie showed it's true colors as a generic matrix clone. It copied so many things from the matrix. Bullet time, jumping backwards through the glass guns a blazing just like Trinity in Matrix: Reloaded and plnety of similar matrix style fight scenes. There's even a scene that looks like the white room when Neo talks to the architect (also from Reloaded). What the hell happened?

I thought the trailer looked pretty good. I pretty much like the Resident Evil movies, I just watched the first one again last night and it was decent. I think Afterlife is going to be the best. It's going to have the Majini, Wesker, Chris, and the executioner. Wesker has to be one of the most badass villians in any video game and if they ruin his character in this movie I might cry. I'm Eh about the 3D I could care less but it says they have the same team that did Avatar doing it so it can't be that bad. That scene where Wesker throws his glasses looks pretty cool. Sure it looks like a Matrix movie almost but what action movie hasn't stole from the Matrix in one way or another?

Honestly, if you've only seen the first one, yes everything will seem out of place. ALOT, and I mean ALOT, happens over the course of 3 films.

As far as th MATRIX-esuqe stuff you're referring to, you can really only blame the game itself. The fight scenes were taken directly from RE 5: the game.

They shot the movie in 3-D cuz Anderson saw the tests for AVATAR and was blown away by it, also, RE 4: The Movie has the biggest budget of all 3 movies and they wanted to make it the most epic as well.

But watching the other 2 films will help in trying to make sense of the new trailer

I actually have to agree with you about the trailer. It looks entertaining, and the 3D should be good since it was filmed in 3D. Too bad I thought the first Resident Evil movie was bad enough to keep me from watching the two sequels, but I may check them out if this one turns out to be any good.

It's weird for me no matter how badly the RE movies seem I still watch em. I'm a RE fan and I'll watch the movies even though they might not be the best. I think Apocalypse was the better of the RE movies and I like that Afterlife has the same kind of feel to it as that. RE Degeneration is the best RE movie though since it was actually made by Capcom. But after I saw the trailer I got really excited for this, Wesker is one of my all time favorite characters and now he's in a movie!! I pray they make him as cool as he is in the video games and not get killed that quickly. But I think they should of called this movie Resident Evil: Redemption because I'm thinking this movie will make up for the loss of the other movies.

actually the 1st one was great. but i love Part 2 the best so far. i didn't think part 3 was that great. cause going the Mad Max route where the world has been turned into a desert has been done to death.


so i didn't much care for it. i hope to have the 4th one be a LOT better than the previous one. i am just thrilled that it's star M. choose to do another one. while at the time the 3rd one came out. she said she was done with the series.

After watching the previews for this film multiple times, I honestly think it'll be the best one since RE 1. Just seems to have cooler vibe and some of the better characters from the game.

So happy the FINALLY put in a MAJOR male character from the games. With Chris being in RE, RE: Code Veronica and RE 5 he's definitely one of the more popular characters.

I think I'll have to replay RE 5. Watching the previews makes me want to play it all over again
