Oh, I hope every level pack after this comes with its own trophies. That would be SO AWESOME!
Oh, don't misunderstand me - I don't expect a pack every month, but I'd be more than willing to part with that level of cash for one every month. Just trying to say I think it's a great value.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it quicker rather than later though - LBP did good, but not great. With all the speed bumps and mis-steps, they need to keep the community engaged so that we hit some sort of self-sustaining critical mass. I don't think it's there yet. When enough creators are are there (and moderation becomes less a problem) so that you can regularly hop out on LBP and find new outstanding levels from top notch creators to entertain you, then it'll be rolling along.

Until things get stabilized like that and there is a solid creation base I think we're going to see MM stay very active to keep existing players and draw more.

Glad they thought of this. Would suck if they started segmenting the community. Good to know that I can use any of the new elements in my level and everyone will still be able to play it regardless if they bought the new pack or not.

I'm VERY happy with the $5.99 for the new level pack. Very reasonable with all the new materials, levels, objects, music, stickers, etc. I was really expecting much higher and I hope people jump on this to show them this price-range is acceptable (not sure how they still justify a costume for $1.99.)

Anyway, I can't wait for this. Lots of fun things to play with.

One question this raises - can we make levels that reference specific games, or not?

I think they might be causing quite a bit of confusion with this "IP inspired" release.

Yes, very good thought. If you have to make a choice next week about buying a costume pack for $5.99 or the level pack for $5.99 PLEASE pick the level pack instead. Make your voice heard through your purchasing that the level pack IS good pricing where the costume pricing IS NOT. Hopefully, in this way we can keep level packs at this price and maybe get it in their heads that costumes need to be cheaper.

But, if you have the money for both, BUY BOTH!!!

Cali, are you REALLY not going to buy this and support MM just because they took your level away?

Btw, I noticed that they added sound to the winches - which I don't really like (or at least would like the option to take the sound off). I have an area with lots of winches and the sounds could become annoying to players if they are in that area a while (trying to get to the hidden object, etc.)

I wonder what other small changes are in 1.07. . .

Apples and oranges in my opinion. I don't think it's confusing at all.

Any content created and delivered by MM that uses an existing IP like the MGS set is going to be liscensed by the owning company. So there is approval and money changing hands.

So if you PS Eye a copywrighted image or character and duplicate things too closely, you're still clearly impinging on an existing IP not liscensed to the game. (A la a Batman:TAS with actual images of the show characters)

However, I'd wager we never see MGS ever moderated again for IP. I'd bet good money that written into the liscensing agreement is some protection for MM and Sony so that Konami can't complain about IP violations.

The truth is that the MM IP moderation is them being careful so that a 3rd party doesn't have any ammo at all to sue - not that Nintendo would ever plan to sue on a SMB level, but allowing it could help open the door. As they bring in an IP as a liscensed partner, that gives them much more ability to let the players use IPs.

Disney will be the real interesting one. If a rash of movie/cartoon duplicate levels come out once we have some Disney tools and those don't get moderated then we'll know.

Ok guys - I'm testing out the export tool now available in LBP.

Here are some snapshots of "Winter Wonderland - Part II, (The Labyrinth)"

After some quick travels - you'll end up needing to get through the Dark Pixie's Labyrinth to find him and defeat him. They don't call him the "Lord of Chaos" for nothing. He has elabrorate Puzzle Wheels, each harder than the next.

Here is one - if you look at Sackboy beneath the candle - you get an idea of the scale of these Puzzle Wheels. Sackboy must get through the maze, solve the puzzles and get through the other side. . . all while the wheel is spinning. MWUHAHAHAHA!

But that is one of the easier ones - try this one. A multi-colored spinning wheel with various switches needed to progress.

This is only the middle of the Puzzle Wheel - I couldn't pull back far enough to show the whole thing. (Also - this was the beginning piece, and does not show all the switches in the middle you must get to.) And yes, it's spinning.

One I am very proud of is my 4 part Puzzle Wheel. It was so big I had to split it up and glue them together. There is one entrance, and one exit.

Again, to get an idea of the scale - look at a close up shot of my character in a part of the level.

Anyway, at the end of this level you'll get a key to fight the Dark Pixie in a Boss Battle. I will release them both at the same time.

These image exports are cool. Let's see what you guys are working on.

And you wonder why you fill up the thermometer?

Seriously, those look awesome!

Hopefully I won't need to use the tool to show off the cagematch as I think I can realistically have it done this weekend (finally).

Those look pretty cool. Are those the default sizes of the exported images, or did you resize them?

Some other things I noticed that may or may not have been related to 1.07 (I just never noticed them before):

- During photo-booth pictures, there is a beeping noise counting down before the picture is taken. I think there used to be a sound before too, but something about the current sound sounds different (and louder)

- When playing multiplayer, you can hit L1 to have a nice little animation of players names arc over their heads. Very well could have been in the game before, because I don't think I ever really hit L1 while playing.

Those are about the default size. When I viewed them from the PS3 on my tv it blew them up to fill the screen, but it was heavily pixelated (I have a 65" though).

When viewing them on the computer they were quite small. I resized when I posted the pics, but that is very close to their original ratio.

The trophies for the MGS pack were also added to LBP with update 1.07.

I was looking at my trophy list, when i noticed that my LBP trophy percentage was about 10 percent less than it was 2 days ago. Looked at the list to see what was up with that, and noticed all of the MGS trophies were now listed.

Well - hope that doesn't affect the people who took the time to get the Platinum Trophy. That would be cr@ppy if they made it so you had to buy the new packs to get the Platinum. Let's hope that's not the case. (I don't care or try for trophies, so it's not a big deal to me - but I know a lot of people who spent lots of time to get that trophy.)

CYMBOL,

Your platinum trophy doesnt go away once you've got it only your percentage of trophies earned. Once you've reached a trophy it stays there on your list no matter what. This will be the same for future level packs I assume and also why you keep your trophies even if you deleted the game you got the trophies from.

Trophies that are awarded for expansions don't count towards a core games's platinum trophy, as i understand it anyways. I'm sure I read somewhere that the "Warhawk" platinum trophy can be obtained without ever earning one of the trophies that are associated with any of the map packs. I assume the same will be true of LBP and the MGS pack.
