A Level Design Competition

Do you believe in fairytales? If so, this is the contest for you!
If you can create the best level based on a classic fairytale, you just may end up as the queen or king of your own LBP fairytale!
But this is no normal fairytale, this is a LittleBigLand fairytale.
So in one way or another you have to incorporate LittleBigPlanet in the story.

How do you do that ?
That's up to you, just make sure your fairytale level has a littleBigPlanet twist in it and is based on one of the fairytales from the list below. create a level based on a fairytale with LittleBigPlanet built into the story.
For example:
1) Key characters from the original fairytale story replaced with people from the
Media Molecule team and famous people from the community of LittleBigPlanet and other people involved with littlebigplanet.
2) Key parts of the original fairytale story replaced with the story of the rise of
Media Molecule and LittleBigPlanet.
3) Names of the level can be changed to something of littlebigplanet, for example: Alice in LittleBigPlanet.
4) You can put LittleBigPlanet logos in your level to get the right atmosphere.
5) Change the location of where the fairytale takes place, the fairytale castle can be the Media Molecule head quarters?

but above all use your imagination to input a LittleBigPlanet theme into the level rather then re-telling the original fairytale story. that is what will make your level stand out from the rest.

How to enter ?
Choose a fairytale from the list below, name your level like this:
LBL:fairytale-your level name.

Make a post in this thread with your PSN-ID, level title and the fairytale you have chosen. Your levels will then be put on the blog for everyone to see.

Prizes:

1st place
Will receive a rare LittleBigPlanet crown, a ps-eye camera with eye create and a 3" plastic sackboy toy.

2nd place
Will receive a ps3 keypad and a 3" plastic sackboy toy.

3rd place
Will receive a 2GB memory stick and a 3" plastic sackboy toy.

Rules:

1) This is a competition for LittleBigPlanet ps3 (not psp) and this isn't an online create competition. You are allowed to get your friends to help you but there's only one of each prize to give out. if you had friends helping you then the prizes will go to the one person that has published the level and no one else.
2) The level must be based on one of the fairytales we suggested.
3) You must name your level like this: LBL:fairytale-your level name.
4) You must put in the description of your level: "This is a entry for the littlebigland fairytale competition"
5) The judges must recognize the story as the fairytale it was based on.
6) LittleBigPlanet must have a part in the story, you can change the story and characters to fit it in.
7)The level must be a new level that was created especially for this competition
8) Your level must be published before 12-01-2010 11.59 am (uk time)
at that time submissions will be closed and judging will begin.
9) You can only enter one fairytale story into the competition, but you can split your one story into two levels if you feel you don't have enough thermometer to make your level in one. But you can not split it into more then two.

Terms:

The competition will start on 08-12-2009, (8th december 2009) that is when you can start submitting your levels.
The competition will end on 12-01-2010 (12th january 2010) and judging will begin.
A team of judges will be put together and judging will continue until 25-01-2010 (25th january 2010)
The winning levels will be recorded and put on the blog.

I'm more anxious to PLAY WITH some POTC DLC than I am to HEAR ABOUT it! It makes absolute sense that they release a POTC pack with the water patch. What could be more perfect?

Hmmmm, I've been thinking of an Alice in Wonderland level for quite some time - just don't know if a month is a enough time to build it (I'm in the Air Force with a time consuming job and a family and it's the holidays. . .)

I'd hate to get started on something like this and not have time to finish - plus, I still haven't gotten all my materials back after losing my game saves.

Seems the universe is conspiring against me.

Edit: These things truly take time - I have an idea on how to make things shrink and grow as Sackboy becomes bigger or smaller - but that alone will take a good deal of time to perfect. (I don't want the player to simply walk into another room with big items - I want items to grow when they shrink after drinking the potion).

It would be a fun level to make - but time consuming as hell just beta testing ideas.

Funny, I always wanted to do an Alice in Wonderland level. I had started it awhile back. All I made was the well scene when she fell down it. I didn't like how it was going so I deleted it.

I don't really like how you have to change everything to Media Molecule. I'd like to do an Alice in Wonderland LBP level - but I'd be more inclined to keep the original characters - I'd feel like I was selling their brand, not building a level.

I don't really get why everything has to be Media Molecule characters or about them - all of these stories are old enough so as not to have copyright issues.

Even if I used the original characters, it still represents LBP, since I made it with the tools LBP has available (and my imagination/creativity).

Right now, the main thing holding me back is flipping the story line.

We are proud to announce that the Pirates of the Caribbean Premium Level Kit, along with water, and the Pirates of the Caribbean Costume Kit will be arriving in time for Christmas, on December 22nd!

Rumours say that the fearsome Davy Jones and his mighty Kraken have come to LittleBigPlanet to wreak havoc and claim some sack folk to serve as Davy’s Crew. Once again, it’s going to fall to Sackboy to locate the only ship on LittleBigPlanet that has any chance of sending him back to the bottom of the sea.

Head deep into the Caribbean to battle The East India Trading Company and Pirates alike, find the legendary ship and take on the Kraken. This new kit features a set of six swashbuckling levels, each containing a treasure trove of stickers, decorations, materials, music objects and 11 new trophies.

WHAT?!?!?! I'm not gonna be able to purchase & play this until Dec 29th!!! I'm travelling for the holidays!!!

Maybe I'll bring my PS3 with me... hmmmm...

They didn't mention if there would be costumes within the POTC pack? I know I saw some official POTC costume images at some point.
