Will this be Rated-R?

Either way, what parent will take their kids to see a movie called the "SUICIDE SQUAD"?

It's a lose-lose.

Anything less than a Rated-R movie like The Punisher would be a disservice to the comic. Nevertheless, they're going to lose out on the Weekend kids box office which is huge for Superhero films.

"Mommy, Daddy, I wanna go see the Suicide Squad!"

Umm... no.

So Deadshot will pretty much be like Stallone's Dredd in this movie? Sorry, I want the mask.

Don't give WB any ideas. Next thing you know, they'll be changing the title of the film to Task Force X.

Well not every movie can be the cinematic masterpiece that Underworld: Awakening can be.

The movie doesn't have to be rated R. It just needs to stay true to the characters. The most recent animated DC Animated movie, Arkham Assault, was basically a Suicide Squad film, was PG-13, and it worked fine. It didn't feel toned down or wrong.

As for the title, that's anyone's guess, but I'm sure it'll be left as Suicide Squad, I don't see it being changed to anything else. The reason for the name would be made clear, and I don't think parents would have any trouble taking their kids to it. All it takes is line in the trailer:

"No one else can do a mission like this. It's suicide!"

"That's why they call us the Suicide Squad."

We'll have to wait and see.

Jai Courtney catches a lot of flack imo. I actually really liked him in the first season of Spartacus, and he wasn't the problem in A Good Day to Die Hard. He seems like a pretty likable guy in person. I do think he is too big to play Kyle Reece though; he would've been better suited as a Terminator.

Just my personal opinion, but I highly doubt most these days would accept Oprah Winfrey as anyone besides herself. She's too high-profile to inhabit the role of a super-secret assassin group's leader.

I thought he was one of the biggest problems with A Good Day to Die Hard. He didn't work in the role at all to me...I don't think its so much flack so much as, just like Sam Worthington before him, people are tired of Hollywood trying to force someone who really isn't that charismatic and really that great of an actor into things. Sure, he was fine in Spartacus, but he has continually been the low points of the movies he has been. He may be a nice guy, but it doesn't make him a good actor...But, if he's great in Unbroken and Terminator 5, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here. But for now, he's the weakest point of this cast right now.

Tom Hardy from Bane to Rick Flag, interesting.

I guess he wanted to maybe face off against Batfleck too? Assuming some of these characters will be in the solo Batman movies, obviously Joker will be.

I don't know the female actresses here but to me it looks like they should be swapped around, the one playing Harley Quinn doesn't look right at all. The other actress looks much better for that role...facially.

I don't think Jai Courtney should be in anything frankly as the guy acts like a plank of wood and doesn't look much more exciting. He's part of a trilogy of bad forced action stars alongside Sam Worthington and Taylor Kitsch.

I can't see Will Smith in a role like this, his personality just doesn't fit. I kinda get the feeling they just wanted another big A-list name in the team to boost the lineup, grab more attention and bring in a wider audience. The only other big name there is Hardy, but Smith is a big miscast for me.

(Leto...that's WB totally going and hoping for another Ledger result )

I see what you mean about Harley Quinn, but I'll take an actress who has proven herself (Robbie) over a fashion model. Plus we know Robbie has the voice.

I'm feeling sorta the same about Smith. His placement seems rather odd in this lineup, particularly given how he's always been in lead roles. If I had my pick, I would have gone with someone else, but I'll wait till the marketing starts rolling in to judge.

I am very happy with the casting for this movie ... unlike another comic book movie.

Default Excellent Cast for what could well be an excellent film...

..."Suicide Squad" has the potential to be almost as successful as "The Dark Knight", if it's handled correctly, or at the very least this film could enjoy the same level of critical and financial success as Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy".

It's definitely the DC film which I am most looking forward to, and although I can't imagine anyone stepping into the role of The Joker (whether his presence is pivotal to the plot or turns out to be little more than a glorified extended cameo) ...well, I'll do my best to keep an open mind.

Truth to tell, I wasn't really sure about Heath Ledger when I originally read that he was cast in the role. Jared Leto has repeatedly proven himself to be a very good actor ...so, if nothing else, viewing his 'take' on the character should be very interesting.

I see this movie as another 'Watchmen' type affair myself, that's why I have my doubts with Will Smith in it, he really sticks out badly.

Nothing wrong with Smith although I like him best as the Fresh Prince hehe. But I really can't get away from the fact I think he's been cast here because he's a big bankable A-list star that will bring people in no matter how good or bad this turns out, can't get away from that.

I also don't really think he can be that kind of cold dark and calculating. He wasn't really like that in 'After Earth', he was just a stern father which isn't the same kind of thing. Maybe he can do it I dunno but I just can't see that in his personality and from previous work. Even if he can do it it might not come across that well because we all know its Will Smith. Should have used Idris instead.

This casting reminds me of Jim Carrey in 'Kick-Ass 2', just a big bankable A-list star stuck in just to be on the safe side. And now I mention it Carrey could of been a better choice for various characters.

Which Enchantress is hiting the screen first - DC's Suicide Squad one or Marvel's Thor one?

And are they now going to have Deadshot unmasking all the time to remind people that Will Smith is under there? And is Deadshot black in the comics? I always confuse Deathlok, Deadshot, and Deathstroke.

The good thing about big star casting is that they have big egos - villains have big egos and only think about themselves. Heroes are the opposite and work as a team. The only famous actor in the Justice League is Afleck. Superman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman are all played by not-so-famous actors.

I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see Deadshot as the "leader of the team" (like in the recent and also terrible animated flick Assault on Arkham).
