I remember some other framing changes in Phantom Menace.
AOTC and ROTS didn't have any change in their Blurays from the theatrical cut?

Kathleen Kennedy is @ celebration for a reason...she doesn't need to be there to introduce a trailer!

She will be there to announce something bigger (UOT) i personally think she will be holding something when she comes out onto the podium..but don't quote me on that.
Lol, to 99% of people, the UOT isn't news at all. Keep dreaming bud, Kathleen Kennedy is there because they are releasing a new Star Wars film and a whole slate of other pictures alongside it. Oh, and a new battlefront game. Nothing like a bit of wild and unfounded speculation though to keep your juices flowing.

Yeah, there a few other tweaks to Phantom Menace, and even Clones got a couple of utterly pointlessly tweaks for the Blu-ray.

I know for me, if the a new release doesn't have the original cuts, or at least 1997 version of the special editions, I'll pass.

Don't forget this massive change in the DVD version of Sith that then got changed back for the Blu-ray:

Agreed.

Not saying theatrical cuts won't hit Blu one day but there's no indication that they're gonna announce this at Celebration.

I can't see disney making any attempt in the short term to release the UOT. Seriously, while george Lucas is alive, how disrespectful would it be? We bought your company, but your versions are crap, so we put them back to how they were when you hated them. Thanks for the deal though.

A lot of the UOT speculation is just that, a minority of rabid fans who can't leave it alone, not a major corporation moving on like Disney is. The future of Star Wars (read Ca$h) is in the new, not the old. 1977 was a long time a go, in a galaxy far far away. The new generation of Star Wars fans are about to come into the fold and don't care about changes made to a very, very old film they will see as part of a much larger set of new and shiny films.

SO, if there won't be any UOT, what will be there in the new Blurays to attract customers buy Star wars AGAIN?
Because there will be new Blurays, right?
I can't think that any company would be dumb enough to let the SWVII opportunity for new cash by the older movies go away.

I can't see people buying a new Disney BD release unless there's something different about it, did people rush out to buy their MARVEL re-issues? I can't see Disney not releasing the movies either, so there will have to be something special about them, and we have 2 options, bonus features and alternative cuts. I wouldn't rush out the door to buy Episodes IV-VI with all it's supplemental material included, as it's mostly standard-definition, but I would make a run for it if the original movies were finally released.

The average consumer won't care about the UOT, because they've already bought the Saga set. Disney's market is the UOT crowd and getting new fans getting ready for The Force Awakens ... and O-Ring collectors ...

That's why the trailer has the Fox copyright. That's why the original film is the only one of the 6 listed as a Fox title on Vudu. You are aware Star Wars is a movie right?

Yawn, no proof on either side. Unless you work for lucasfilm, this is pointless conjecture. Please stop

But who says one is coming? We all piled in before for new releases, and the wealth of additional special features was enough in the past, why not again?

I hope I am proved wrong, just can't see it happening anytime soon. Kathleen Kennedy is a LONG time friend of george Lucas. Would she really want to dump on him?

I know! There will be brand new alterations (the Disney way) taking us further away from the UOT!!!
This will be the new attraction!
Perhaps they make Wookie talk to make him more accessible to kids!
