Okay so now I'm curious about the digital versions of episodes 1-6. Over at Vudu the Star Wars bundle has the Ultraviolet and Disney logo. Will they all redeem in Ultraviolet or is it just the first film (A New Hope) that is Ultraviolet eligible? I'm thinking about sharing the films with my friends on Vudu but if they all redeem as Disney Anywhere I'll take a pass.

I bought the bundle in the waiting room while my father was enduring triple bypass heart surgery. All six unlocked in itunes. Everything other than A New Hope unlocked in Disney Movies Anywhere. Dad's fine.

And also.... The Holiday Special remastered in HD

You could always just link to one of the services you don't use. Like if you don't use "Google Play" but your friends do, link their account. (it would have to be an account they can share) There are five services you can link to now. Pick one.

iTunes
Google Play
VUDU
Amazon
Microsoft

If they release the originals and use a movie theater print would we notice it? Is the quality that much worse than the original negative?

It's an assumption that's Luke. It might just be misdirection to throw us off.

I didn't watch the game, I saw the trailer on YouTube afterward.

Summer 2016 or as late as early 2017 for Force Awakens blu-ray!?

There would be an epic ton of cash to be made if the original three were released in theaters (restored, etc) prior to the blu-ray release of Force.

Possibly, but there was certainly no new footage of Luke.

Mark Hamill is playing Khan and JJ Abrams doesn't want it to leak.

Happy Birthday to Princess Leia. Carrie Fisher turns 59 today.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before across the galaxy, I mean Internet

But, is it possible Kylo Ren is Luke ?

The fact that Mark Hamil's likeness is not on the Force Awakens poster and
not featured in any of the trailers ( maybe his hand ?)
- is odd to say the least !

Chewie, Han, Leia, C-3PO and R2 appear in both

What gives?

----------- It's official, I'm an idiot

Theatrical prints tend to have higher gamma - very dense blacks - and transferring them to video means you get literally nothing in the shadows, as well as taking a significant hit regarding detail because it's (usually) a 4th generation copy of the original.

All that said, I've seen a few minutes of a homebrew 4K scan of an original IB Tech print of Star Wars and it looked lovely. Dirty as ****, but the texture and grain looked so much more natural than the Blu-ray, and the colour had a distinct blue and orange feel...so much for the notion that the contemporary digital overuse of that colour combo could never have been done photochemically.

They could try to reconstruct the Special Editions, like those Despecialized Editions.

Technically the 1997 editions were finished on film, using the cleaned original neg as the basis with 2K (or less) filmouts for the digitally tweaked shots. Some of what people think were digital redos were actually redone optically so there's less of the outright 2K material in there than you might think. Well, for the 1997 versions anyway, as Lucas chipped away with more and more digital additions for the later revisions, natch.
