well figure TFA opens next week and will probably play through February or longer. My guess is we probably won't get the blu version until fall. We can all wait and wonder about the original unaltered trilogy.

The best guesses for the original trilogy are 2017 for the 40th ann of A New Hope.

The gravest potential scenario of irony is that the UOT will be magnificently remastered and released to the general populace approximately soon after the majority of the most ardent and/or obnoxious group of extreme purists, that slung the most absurd vitriol and silliness over the years, pass on to rejoin the Force.

Or approximately after SW12 comes out. Whichever comes first.

That would be my best guess at this point. At the absolute latest I would think would be after the new trilogy finishes with Episode IX and they release some kind of massive box set (hopefully offering the UOT movies individually as well).

You may not have seen or remember that I have stated to be very much of the thought that the UOT should be remastered properly and released to the public.

Unlike some, my pragmatic view appreciates the positive changes made to OT and hope Disney continues to refine the OT; sans the more contentious adjustments.

So while a few have chosen to be absurdly sanctimonious and bitter rancorous individuals, I have enjoyed the OT over the years. Despite some of the various shortcomings of the current iterations.

I posted this on the music forum as well, but I think this forum (and especially this thread lol) get a lot more traffic.

On the CD set for the Phantom Menace Ultimate Edition soundtrack, a few of the tracks have a really obnoxious static "PSHHHH!!" noise, which obviously affects my enjoyment lol. Is this just an error with the CDs or does it affect the digital version too?

Because I'd be perfectly fine with re-buying the digital version of each individual affected track of the on-disc version. But I'd like to know they're unaffected beforehand obviously.

Maybe try listening to it on Spotify on your PC or tablet? Yes, Spotify Free's streaming quality is low, but maybe it can answer your concern about the digital version.
