One thing is for sure. Carrie's death will have a big ripple effect on the Star Wars Universe from hereon out.

As long as it's not CGI Princess Leia I'll be ok. Off screen death and dedication is the right move.

For all we know she might be a badass in Episode VIII.

It's all I can do to not start bawling my eyes out at work right now.

Isn't her last line in TFA "May the Force be with you"? Fitting, in retrospect.

What do so many online nerds have against JJ Abrams? Every movie he has directed has gotten high praise from critics and audiences.

2016 needs to lose a game of Holochess to a Wookiee.

I think it's speculated
[Show spoiler]she's not in much of VIII and was effectively written out, so a line of explanation in IX would do it - although I'd expect them to pull out the stops for a Paul Walker esque goodbye, hopefully not done with the trashy CGI though

This is one of the places where TFA took its cues from the EU. Unfortunately in this case.

I though Paul Walker's recreation in Furious 7 looked outstanding.

Only the die hard fans really cared about the Expanded Universe, not the general public.

Has no one seen Rogue One? I guess if they really want to keep her in it then they have absolutely no qualms doing a digital version of someone who has died.

This just hurts right now. I think of her fondly in When Harry Met Sally, the Blues Brothers...

There are no words I can say other than the fact that it plain sucks.

I feel bad for the crack ***** comments in the sequels I have made in the past because all of us have some demons we fight off. I did defend her in TFA though and I think people were downright cruel to an aging woman that always had a place in the Star Wars universe.

I remember how I was so in love with her in the first Star Wars and she looked so angelic and that will never change. I saw that in the last film and it was just like home seeing her and Harrison Ford reunited.

R.I.P.
