Totally! Also ruins the Jabba reveal in ROTJ. I remember gasping as kid when I finally saw Jabba. Now my kids have already seen him in ANH so when they saw him in ROTJ it was....nothing.

Didn’t you know that Lucas always intended for you to see Jabba in The Phantom Menace for the first time?

It's been a few months, lol, but I don't remember the Falcon being fully seen in that scene.
Besides, with Solo now, we see it much earlier.

It was also briefly seen in ROTS... unless we're supposed to assume Solo retconned that.

Jabba worked so much better as an evil presence who was only mentioned in hushed whispers. Sometimes, less really is more.

I wonder if we’ll get 20th Anniverary Special Editions of the PT. They could add ten times as much CGI to all the films and also re-edit the dice game between Qui-Gon and Watto so that instead of Qui-Gon cheating, he notices that Watto was trying to cheat so decides to undo the cheating using the Force so that the dice roll is random. That’s how it was always supposed to be anyway. They just didn’t have enough time to shoot the necessary angles. I don’t know why anyone would have a problem with this. Qui-Gon was never supposed to be a cold-blooded cheater.

The scene wouldn't be complete without a fat-assed dino worked into a shot.

A non-CGI dino for irony.

Has to be a Harryhausen style stop motion dino or re-use the chess-pieces from the first SW

I don't know, I think it's pretty clear Watto was up to no good and Qui-Gon was just thwarting him. Technically, they're both cheating, but....Watto Cheated First.

There’s no point in showing the special editions to someone as their first Star Wars movies. Otherwise they’re gonna say, “Who’s that creepy young ghost hanging out with Obi-Wan and Yoda?”

I think Hayden is a fine actor (and if you think about it, a pretty great athlete). Believe it or not, he didn't like the screenplay for Attack of the Clones, either. What was that quote? "This isn't what I signed up for." And the response was something along the lines of, "Well, that's the role."

Gist of it -- Hayden finally got the screenplay for Attack of the Clones, had concerns. Said it wasn't what he thought the role was going to be. Response back was, well, that's the character. I haven't touched the commentary tracks on the DVDs in a billion years, but I think that tiny factoid is there.

Point is, Hayden signed on to play the Anakin Skywalker people imagined -- noble, tragic action hero -- and then got a screenplay with a character created with a heavy emphasis on teenage emotional nuttery, and Hayden was concerned. He signed on to play Tragic Hero Anakin. Got something else...emotional impulsive teenager Anakin. Nothing to really make a big deal of (it makes total sense, in hindsight, that Lucas went that way), but apparently the Anakin of Episode II wasn't what Hayden was expecting.

My TFA bd has already rotted. I didn’t bother buying Rogue One the first time around since I wasn’t as crazy about the movie and Disney had yet to start supporting UHD a full year into the format. I wanted to future-proof.
