I dont particularly like the appearance of Maul just because im not a big prequel fan. But anyway, yeah, quite simply, Han doesn't get to see Maul in the film, so of course he can still have his mindset of not believing.

If it’s any consolation I like almost all the MCU movies including the second Guardians of the Galaxy.

I thought they balanced that aspect with his inner natural inclination to do the right thing pretty well. I especially loved his last moment with Beckett, which seemed to me a not-so-subtle jab at Lucas and his revision of the Greedo scene.
I agree, but losing his girlfriend probably had something to do with it. In any case, I just didn’t find the movie enjoyable. There’s nothing interesting or fun about it (to me). I thought I might’ve come around to liking it so I liked Rogue One much more after rewatching it, but Solo was just as boring to me as the first time I watched it.

Edit: I actually quite enjoyed the first 30 minutes. I thought the setup was good but after that it was downhill for me.

There would be an influx of old Blu-ray sets being sold when the remasters come out on disc, so it might be wise to sell them before the value is lowered by that.

You mean the complete saga set that can be had for ~$40?
Yeah I’d hate to see that value drop.

I sold my BD set years ago, nothing to do with D+ and everything to do with the old jacked-up-to-shit Lowry transfers and weaksauce bonus features.

The deleted scenes and vintage making-of documentaries (for the OT) are the best things about this set.

Compared to the ALIEN Anthology 6-disc set, the bonus features are disappointing.

Yeah, I bought it only for the deleted scenes.

Solo is far better than the prequels. It's probably the best Star Wars film since Return of the Jedi, actually.

Yeah, it looks like floating human heads in a cartoon world. Really pathetic, idiotic and inept "filmmaking." When that Cody character gives Obi-Wan his lightsaber, for instance. Ridiculous.

I disagree. It just didn't "fit" in the series at all. It felt like a deconstruction of Han Solo to me. If it wasn't part of Star Wars, and was just a sci-fi movie on its own, it would've been fine. But as a Star Wars film, it was a failure in my eyes.

For me, it ranks below the prequel trilogy, except maybe RotS. I know a lot of people loved that one, but it's my least favorite of all the SW films except maybe Solo, and definitely The Last Jedi. That one is firmly in last place.

I thought Solo captured the true Star Wars "spirit" a lot better than anything after Jedi (except maybe the Ewok movies).

Solo had the worst cinematography of any star wars movie though. I dont think I would have hated solo if it had been filmed properly but solo is visually the worst star wars film by far.

solo is the only disney SW film i truly enjoyed because it had that fun space adventure feel that the original trilogy also had.

I liked Solo too... But you didn't get that "fun space adventure feel" from Rogue One?

Except for colour timing... I don't believe there are any more, at least in A New Hope.
Though I did read online that A New Hope has the long said to be destroyed Toshe Station deleted scene.
Biggs' original introduction, amongst other characters never seen later...

I would like to see, however, one more "alteration" to the Cantina scene.
Where Han is getting a lap dance. Lol. If I remember that far back correctly, it was filmed.

Those Deleted Scenes are available as extras on Disney+ yes, but they were also on the complete Saga Blu-ray set. there isn't anything that hasn't already been made available before.

So that’s what threw me off with Maul...was he brought back in to never be seen by Han? Or just never to use his abilities around him? Or if sequels did happen, was it just a one and done like “hey kids memba him?? K, bye!”
It should be pretty obvious that Darth Maul was brought in to set up a Solo sequel. Audience reaction was intended to be, "Holy crap, she's connected to Darth Maul" and I personally think that was effective. I wouldn't have had a problem with that if Darth Maul wasn't supposed to be dead. (I'm assuming that this takes place after the events of Episode 1 and I'm ignoring the animated series.) Bringing back dead characters IMO is poor writing akin to the ridiculous storytelling on soap operas.

If Solo had done better and the sequel had been made, the relationship of Qi'ra and Maul could have been quite interesting especially if it fleshed out Maul's story (putting aside the fact that he's supposed to be dead). But I get your point that if Solo interacted with him in the sequel, they would have to set up some rationale for him still not believing in the Force before that story ended. Of course, it's also possible that he would see Maul as evil and strange and possibly even "religious" the same way as he dealt with Obi-Wan without truly believing everything. But there's nothing that says Solo had to know anything about Maul - Maul could have been manipulating Qi'ra behind the scenes and Solo would know nothing or little about it.

I'm not as critical of the recent films as many (most?) on here are and there was much that I liked, but this apparent resurrection of Palpatine (unless it's a dream or a flashback) in the upcoming film does not give me much hope that it's going to be a good film. Because there was so much negative reaction to VII and VIII, I have a feeling this last film will be all about fan service, which IMO, will make for a horrible film. Having said that, I don't want to do what I criticize others for and pre-judge a film that I haven't seen. I hope I'm wrong and it turns out to be great.

There really ISN'T so much negative reaction towards them. It's just a very vocal minority.
