It's impossible to do with the Star Wars films. Too many changes to work with Seamless Branching.

And it's not going to happen anway. The original theatrical versions in all certainty will not be released.

I will get the films no matter which version of the original trilogy is included and I like the prequels their not as great as the original trilogy but not all of the stuff in them are not that bad either.

I wonder how many preorders Amazon will have in by September. At that price it's going to be a buttload!

Obi-wan didn't know what that meant and openly asked. Qui-gon didn't know, either, but conjectured about the Chosen One business... which neither Yoda nor Mace believed one bit.
Truth Alert:
The Midichlorian business was created as a narrative mystery and a set-up for the payoff in Episode III -- that Anakin was created by the Sith. Why is his Midi count off the chart? Because the Sith Lord Plagueis learned how to use the Dark Side to influence the midichlorians to create life and lengthen life unnaturally.

Go listen to your Episode III commentary during the "fertility" floating ballet sequence. Anakin *was* created by the Sith, by Palpatine (or Plagueis), but the specific revelation was re-written to make the scene more ambiguous (what is Palpatine lying about, what is he not lying about).

Go listen to that, then go back to Episode I and watch the "blood" scene where Obi and QGJ run Anakin's sample. What music does John Williams start playing before scene's end? It's a Sith theme. Lucas was trying to mirror the "I am your father" revelation in Empire with another parental revelation in Sith...and how the revelation to Anakin that his "father" was a Sith lord, that he was created by the Sith - that leads to Anakin's conflicted loyalties, and sets up a whopper of a climax in ROTJ...

...but Lucas went for the ambiguous route instead. Anyway, THAT is why you have the midichlorian business in Phantom Menace. It was a narrative construct that was supposed to pay off in Sith.

Question:

To get all the special features related to the original trilogy (deleted scenes, new footage, etc.) , are we forced to buy the "Saga Edition", or will it be included in the "Original Trilogy Edition"? Cause I really, really don't want to be forced to buy all 6 when I'm definitely only gonna be watching the first 3.

well, considering the "Prequels" set and the "Originals" sets are both only 3 discs each... it sounds like you need to get the "Saga" set to get all 9 discs.

Yes. The only way to get the 3 BD's full of extras is to buy the Complete Saga boxset.

Peoples debates about the movies themselves aside - TPM DVD looks good?! *brain explodes*

Even back then, that thing was a giant eyesore. Blechhh (the audio was another story of course).

Don't know if this has been asked, because I don't spend time in this thread, but how do you guys think the saga would have fared if the director of the other cult phenomenon 80's sci-fi classic, Blade Runner
[Show spoiler]Ridley
was behind the camera? Not trying to step on the Lucas fans' toes, I just have read a lot of comments over the years from people who are pissed at him for changes he's made (they don't bother me)....

I have to agree - it's pretty damned horrid. Especially on larger screens.

Can't wait. Question: What are the advantages of pre-ordering? Is it just guaranteeing yourself a copy, or is there something more to it? I've order from amazon before, just never pre-ordered anything. I always just go the local BB and purchase what i want on release date.

I do it to lock in a price. The way I see it $90 is a great price for this set, and it could go down, or way up, but either way it's good to have this as a back-up, especially considering if the price drops between your pre-order date you pay the lowest price. You essentially guarantee that you'll pay no more than $90.

You lock in Amz's price just in case it increases before release date. Amz has been known to offer items cheaper when they first become available for pre-order. And you could always cancel the pre-order later.
