A. Nobles are often military men. Look at Arthur's Knights of the Round Table: All soldiers to the crown, and the title of knight makes them lesser nobles.
In fact, that's what knights are: Citizens given noble title that must answer the call to battle when the king summons them. Higher nobles are often given governorship of portions of a kingdom/empire, and some are given military command responsibilities. That's what Tarkin represents.

B. Lucas himself has indicated on several occasions that the Moffs are the SW equivalent of nobles. He also said that Vader was present to keep a eye on Tarkin.

Along with the following line-

.
The way I look at that scene is that Obi-Wan never wanted Luke to find out that his father became Darth Vader, so he was basically sugar-coating a dark sad story and making his father look more like a great hero, so Luke would always look up to him.

ROTJ's Jerjerrod was also a Moff. With the confusion of Tarkin's command over a Sith Lord, Jerjerrod was most certainly under Vader's thumb.

Yup.

It's clear that the films were not planned out in advance as was once claimed, even ESB (it was a late choice to make Darth Luke's father, and an even later one to make Luke and Leia brother and sister - hence the romantic kiss in ESB), but this one isn't evidence of anything.

It's always annoyed me especially Obi and 3PO at the end of RotS Obi-Wan places his hand on 3PO's shoulder and it's quite a touching moment. Then a few years later he has no recollection of either Droid.

With regards to Vader, 3PO and Bespin one of the books I think Star Wars tales has a short story were Vader finds his former Droid.

I don't buy the "there are lots of droids! he'd never recognize him!" He built him. He'd recognize him.

There are also billions of orange cats, but I'm sure I could pick mine out.

Default The Death Star!!

After Luke blew up the death star in ANH the empire started working on the new death star near the forest moon of Endor but? there would only have been like 3 years or so from the time when Luke blew up the first one to when the new one was half way complete. In ROTJ how? could they have built it that fast and in such a short time? I know in the novel Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader that Tarkin was using wookie slaves to help complete construction of the death star. Could the empire have been secretly working on a second death star during ANH or, are the wookies supposed to be that fast?

I hope their will be some new documentaries as well as the stuff we have seen before.
I want all the extras of the DVDs in HD, plus tons of new stuff. Thank you.

I noticed that at the end of ROTS, Threepio's mind was wiped but not R2's. Perhaps R2 should tell Luke about all those adventures with Ben and his father?
Did R2D2 know that Darth Vader IS poor old fried Anakin Skywalker?

He basically wanted to make Luke decide to become a Jedi like his father before him.
If he'd told him how it worked out with Anakin then I doubt Luke would have had much motivation to go down the same path, as he almost did.

The 1sth Death Star was plagued by sabotages, bad coordination, bad supplying..

You could also argue that the 2nd Death Star had a higher priority because of the increased threat level that the Rebels posed.

Though it is probably something that Lucas didn't really thought of when writing ROTJ

I always assumed the second Death Star was already being constructed while the first one was being used.

Default IF Luke had turned to the Dark Side in ROTJ??

If? Luke had turned to the dark side obviously he would have told the emperor about the rebels plans to blow up the death star. But would they both have had time to escape, or would they have been blown up, also he probably would have told him about Leia being his sister. I could see another 3 movies where Leia has to be trained and then goes to free her brother from the dark side just like in the novels that came out that took place after ROTJ. But who would have trained her Yoda and Obi-wan died Unless she could have been trained by their spirit forms?

Other than his voice and the fact that all the other 3P0s we see are not golden droids.

Right, that's it exactly. Anakin may have built 3P0, but most of that "building" would be more accurately described as "assembling." Look at the other 3P0 on the Blockade Runner in ANH. Or the rudely familiar face in TESB.

The romantic kiss doesn't prove anything. If they didn't know they were brother and sisters it still fits fine that they were attracted to each other even though related.

I know Princess Leia was pretty riled up when she kissed Luke. But in Jedi she says she's always known they were brother and sisters. When has kissing your brother ever proved anything to anybody?

Or a side note I found this today Wayne Dorrington has done ANH in Iconoscope here are the first few chapters. I think it's fun.
