Zam Wesell is another pet peeve with me when she was on the run she should have grabbed Anakin's lightsabre and taken his form. How cool would a Jedi bar fight have been? Obi-Wan could have cut her arm off. Why make a green monster? No wonder she morphed into a hot chick....
Well I don't know that Jango would've survived a speeder chase into a bar anyway, with 2 Jedi on his tail he would've died a lot sooner in the movie and it would've thrown the entire story out of wonk.

Yeah, that part of the movie made little sense but a million complaints could be aimed toward the whole assassination plot.

And when Padme is leaving for Naboo, robots are floating outside her window that look exactly like the one used in her attempted assassination yet they're completely ignored.

Probably because the Jedi didn't sense anything malicious in those like the ones outside her bedroom when Wessel attacked. Not everything in movies has to make perfect sense.

That's where it started.
wasn't there also a version of the figure that had a shootable rocket?

Why should we leave? We would miss the insighful and expert comments of the wanna be film makers if we did.

They didn't exactly chase after him after he shot Wesell though did they? I love the way the plots tie us in knots it's all cause and effect, effect and cause....

Can't confirm it, but when I was 10 years old, the rumour was that the first Boba figures could launch the missile on his back, but concerns over choking caused this version to be cancelled. I'm not an action figure guy, don't know if that's true, I can only tell you Boba Fett was a highly-promoted figure before Empire debuted.

Yep. The Boba Fett that was initially offered was supposed to have a missle firing feature.

Around that time, the Battlestar Galactica toys had come out, and a kid choked to death due to one of the missle firing features on the ships. So they scrapped the missle Fett at the last moment. Up until a couple years ago, I still had one in the mailer box with the letter that came with it detailing the change. There are a few prototypes floating around and such. The mail-away Fett offered now does have the feature.

If you don't mind a 2.35:1 film being cropped to 1.78:1, which Spike does with all six.

It was 4 proof of purchase tabs and after the Holiday Special we knew who he was. What we didn't know was that he was a major figure from Empire.

I got three of them. It took several months to finally get them and they came in a tiny unmarked white box in the late summer of 1979. No packaging, no stats, just a small insert explaining why the missile firing feature was disabled!

It was advertised in the promotion, but (as Beast noted) it was disabled and the only versions that did were unpainted prototypes.

Exactly. I had one BSG toy (why my parents bought it instead of a Viper I'll never know) was some kind of "long range craft" with a viper nose, a long tanker body and a viper-like back with switchable engines. You could disconnect the front and attach it directly to the back, making a sort of "mini-viper". It shot a missile from the nose...the spring wore out pretty quick and the missile wouldn't launch anymore. I remember kids were pretty pissed when they eliminated the missile launching from the vipers & raiders.

I had a couple of the figures, including a lame Imperious Leader (Dammit Mom! I wanted Starbuck!), Muffit, and a Cylon Centurion. Mattel also had a similar promo like with Boba Fett where you could send in PoPs and get a *gold* (command) Centurion. For Christmas of 1978 I got a Cylon Raider model kit...my Dad was a master at putting model kits together but I didn't inherit a 100th of that ability (unless it was snap-together) so the kit went to pieces. My "Darth Vader's TIE Fighter" kit suffered an inglorious end as well.

Sigh. Haven't thought about this stuff in 30 years!

PS: +1 Internets to who can identify what that "long range" BSG ship was called.
