I think the issue is -- and hey, this is just one man's opinion, beast -- when you post opinions and facts with the same tone, maybe it's difficult for some members to discern between the two.
Since you missed/ignored it earlier...

Pretty much everything that someone posts that isn't reposted information from somewhere else is nothing more than opinion.

And how exactly does one read "tone" over the internet? Last I checked, that was next to impossible most of the time.

No, you're right. It's seriously impossible to read the tone of that sentence. Just utterly impossible...

If someone else wants to explain to Beast how a writer can convey tone in a script, book, article, or Internet post, I'd appreciate it. Clearly I'm not getting the job done. That's just an opinion though; it's not a fact. Wait, now I'm confused.
What? What the heck are you even talking about? What's there to take into consideration?

Tone in internet posts is incredibly hard to distinguish, that's why there's Smileys to try to convey the tone better.

Yes, you can convey tone in scripts and books. But in that case, you get more than just stream of consciousness.

And you may see them as more similar than I do, but the FACT (and yes, it's a fact) is that for many people, their pre-existing love for at least some other aspect (usually the OT) of the Star Wars franchise gives them more of a vested interest in the franchise as a whole (including the, in their opinions, lesser films) that someone simply won't have when they dislike a movie that has nothing to do with anything else that they do like.

In ROTJ just as Vader starts to pick up the emperor we hear what sounds like a beeping noise going off on his chest control plate.

NOW

I think either that the transmitter was secretly reactivated when he was placed in the suit and, it was fixed where if he turned against the emperor than it would activate and kill him.

OR

Maybe it was never removed from Anakin and, the force lightning activated it and killed him slowly.

OR

It could also be possible that Vader knew that the transmitter was reactivated when he went into the suit and, that is why he never dared to turn against his master cause he was afraid of death.
Thanks for the responses guys

Interesting idea and I admittedly don't remember any kind of slave microchip that would kill being mentioned. But if there was, I am pretty sure the Jedi would have had the slave thing removed when Anakin became a padawan. Force Lightening killed Vader. Dude was wearing a metal suit..lol..

Beeping could have been the suit's life support system crashing from the overload of electricty too.

Perhaps it's because a completely different topic/point is being actively discussed by 10 people, and you put something that is completely out of left-field, and looks like a cut-n-paste from another forum.... And you usually get a few responses and just post another one anyways, like "Theories on storm-trooper's ability to urinate within their suits"

I've gotta say though... I come into this thread, and it's all "Batman, The Godfather, etc"

Also, I've seen the Original 3 a lot of times, but I come in here and I start reading, and soon I find myself wondering if I saw the same movies

So, I have a couple theories about the storm-troopers' ability to urinate within their suits. I mean, how easy do you think it is to take those clothes off? And this brings up another question - do the clones need to pee? With their accelerated growth rate, do they pee?
I suppose the human troopers would have to pee, but there's probably a cheap, dirty plastic bag inside the suit to catch it. Imagine if that thing broke though! Wow!

That would explain why so many Rebels thought the Empire stunk.

If they had all that technology to make clones and alter their genes but didn't take away their ability to pee, massive fail on the part of the cloners.

I agree! All those advancements in science.
But according to some psychological theories, if men didn't have the ability to pee, they would idolize and worship their penises because they would only know about their sexual capabilities. So it's possible they left the ability to pee intact so the stormtroopers didn't get too distracted while on the job.

Well. OK. His job is to be aware of film. If I want my liver removed, I respect the opinion of a doctor more than the average moviegoer. Red Letter is also very informed of film. He may or may not be a fan boy, but he treats many films as intricately. As I've heard many film professors do. Does that make them fan boys?

But ultimately. I only mention that briefly because I realize any further typing accomplishes nothing. Most of the discussion on this review says things like "I saw a couple minutes and it seems" or "I'll bet it's all" or "That sounds long. He must spend the entire time whining"

If you're not going to watch something (and no one says you have to) then you don't really get to have an opinion on how whiny or fanboyish it was. (And for the record he does point out the positive aspects of the film)

The point is. I rarely converse you you Beast because I enjoy discussing issues with people who are willing to engage in thoughtful and considered conversation. There's no point talking to someone who automatically dismisses anyone who disagrees with them and follows a single viewpoint ceaselessly. Insanity is the act of repeating a process and expecting different results. Expecting anything other than immediate dismissal of any thoughtful conversation from you would fit that definition. I will not repeat the process.

The fantasy films often had great stage legends because they were professional and you could throw anything at them and they would give it their all. Sir Christopher Lee has had similar problems with Dracula and you can see him shrivel up when Lucas shows him the Yoda with vampire teeth in the maikng of AotC.

Small children won't have understood where Guiness was coming from but I'd like to think some of us get where he was coming from. He could have done it better or differently but he may at the end of the day not quite understood the whole Star Wars thing....
Just another example of typical incendiary comments from Beast. Sir Alec Guiness stated that he was a little weirded out (my term) by the obsessiveness of the fans; specifically about the Force. He was a devout Roman Catholic and was troubled by the possible occultic aspects of The Force and the fans' obsession with it.
