any idea of if the complete saga set will have the prequel and original trilogy seperated like the individual relelases. So, 2 box sets inside a larger box.

I am thinking of buying them seperately in order to have the two different looking boxes.

You think the EXACT SAME PARTICIPANTS got together and recorded new commentaries? Why would you think that?

The first one listed is from the existing DVDs. The second one is going to be culled from the past 3 decades of interviews they already have.

Seems pretty clear to me.

I'm still just as much of a fan of the movie, without taking up their ad campaign for them.
I am with you on this, I see no need for all of this, it's just a lame publicity stunt in my view but most people go for it now a days, I think it make's them feel involded in the whole process or something. I suppose I don't feel the need to be that involved in it

Ben burt will always be on the commentaries...he bored the heck outta me last time with all his talk about sound effects..
how could they put in an audio commentary from 3 decades together and syncrhonize it with the film as it's playing? it's a commentary not parts and parts put together...it doesn't say they are interviews, but commentaries...

so one has to be from the DVD...what other one did they have?

Guys, Harrison Ford has never kept it a secret about how much he hates science fiction. While I agree that he may be a little eccentric when dealing with the public, I doubt very much that he hates the fans of his films.

He's turned more into George Hamilton that anything else, especially considering how much the womanizer the man really is. While this may be detestable behavior, I don't see how that equates to hatred over his fans.

For the most part, the main cast of the original Star Wars movies has tried to distance themselves away from anything having to do with the Star Wars phenomenon. You have to remember that they have dealt with these fan crazy intrusions into their life since 1977. At some point, they basically took the atittude that "enough is enough". Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and the rest of the cast have been wanting to move on and become known for something other than "Star Wars" and you cannot fault them for that.

Harrison Ford has made quite a few good movies that are neither Star Wars nor Science Fiction. I personally enjoyed "Witness", "Air Force One" and many other films he has made. It's not all about Star Wars and I think these actors have given us more than enough of their personal time.

You seem to treat fandom like a religion or something. Again, we clearly have different definitions of what it means to be a "fan" of a film. To me, it's a lot about enjoying a movie and less about lame ad gimmicks.

Well, I know that Ben Burtt doesn't work for Lucasfilm anymore, so I don't see him coming back. Apparently, he and Lucas didn't end it on the best of terms.

There are dozens of examples of DVDs that include "commentaries" pulled together from past interviews that aren't screen-specific. They'll probably just do their best to synch up relevant topics with what's going on on-screen.

(Incidentally, with pretty big gaps in between speakers, this is the EXACT approach they used on the laserdisc "commentary".)

That's so true! I bought an official/nicely framed autograph in Disney World a few years ago and retail was $425 (I didn't pay that though I got a discount...I'm sure it's worth more now. But I loved that it was kind of a candid portrait of him from Bladerunner.

You are 100% correct. Its Lucas' way of getting free advertising. We all love this film series, but at the end of the day the blu rays are nothing more than a product that needs to be sold. If Lucas can get some free advertising then its a big win for him (notice SW is now at the top of the preorders again... and almost everyone here preordered months ago...).
