I don't know what I expected, maybe news of a new restoration of the films, maybe Han shoots first again, something noteworthy.
Even just a more specific list of what exactly is included in the two bonus discs would have been nice. The description on those is pretty vague.

I think the only other set that was featured in both trilogies was the interior of the Tantive IV.Also, (and I dont remember the reference) I believe that when Star Wars was just in the "draft stage" it was supposed to be a "Space Opera about a farmer". So I think there is more symbolizm in it than just from the movies.

Just to clarify, Tantive IV was not in the prequels.

I agree. I am thinking the "...and more!" will just end up being theatrical trailers and promo stuff like that. Nothing too amazing. I was just hoping for some kind of visual confirmation that they fixed the color issues on the OT (just a quick clip would be all needed). Guess I will have to wait.

OK, its official: all three covers we've seen so far genuinely suck. The separate "trilogy" covers are way too cluttered, and the saga set looks like a children's painting. Not that I hate the "saga" design, but you'd think with all the photos and artwork in the Lucasfilm archives, the marketing department could've done something more "photo-real" than this. From what I've seen of this release, it's not very encouraging; I hope things change for the better before it finally comes out.

Yeah, that would have been nice, too. But I wasn't really expecting actual footage from the new versions. Just a list of what is included.

I do hope that they correct those color issues, because that was just annoying.

Really? The horizon line definitely looks faded into the back of his shirt in a way that would indicate he is.

After my defense of the Saga artwork, on actually seeing it larger I'm back to being not that keen on it. Again, I like the idea behind it, but it still seems very TPM-Anakin focused and the Luke-ghost doesn't connect it well enough to the OT for me. And I'm not a fan of the 'children's book' illustration style either, it looks way to twee. I originally thought it might be harking back to TPM poster with Anakin with Vader's shadow (a poster I actually really liked, captured a sense of innocence as well as ominousness), but this I just can't take seriously in the same way.

However I still prefer it to the trilogy sets... at least the Saga artwork has a neat idea behind it that didn't work that well in execution... the Trilogy artwork is just someone cutting up pictures and pressing 'blend' and 'merge' a lot in photoshop... things like fitting pictures into the side of Vaders face (Luke's lightsaber becomes part of his triangular mouthpiece! Vader's round head becomes the death star! Oh look, the Emporer's head is floating around in that patch of black!) are like the sort of amateur photoshop collaging I used to do when I was 13, it just doesn't amount to more than a busy mess with a nice colour scheme.

Default Any stats on video?

Is there any info on how these were transferred? Any further restoration? Was it a frame by frame effort? 2K, 4K, 6K scans? I could care less about whatever cover art is gone with.

I really hope Empire of Dreams is in this set somewhere. What a fantastic documentary! Would be even cooler if it was extended and in HD!

So the Theatrical Cuts are not included huh? Lame.

This was the most worthless social nonsense campaign in history.

"All will be revealed" Really? Nothing much WAS revealed other than we pretty much already knew...ahh, and the box art. Whoophydo. I am NOT impressed.

I want specifics.

I also would have LOVED to see a doc on the restoration to be included! I would find that very interesting. By that I mean the transfer to blu ray.

Thank you! Anyone else notice there hasn't been a word regarding the visual quality? Nothing about restoration work, or digital to digital transfers for Episode II and III, etc., or any new "enhancements" like the CGI Yoda in Episode I...it's all very vague.

Lucas made it very clear during production of "Sith", that he intended Bail Organa's ship to be the same one Vader later assaults in the opening of "New Hope". That's why he tried to replicate that set as closely as possible.

Secondly, if these are slip covers, they're bound to be embossed and that will affect the texture of the surface.

Thirdly, we don't know how these artworks going to be packaged. For example the Prequel Trilogy and Original Trilogy 'art' as we have seen them may not even be visible from the outer packaging - their could be a basic slip over them, whilst the artwork we have seen is part of the inner DigiPack.
Good points.

Question

Did anyone even read this on StarWars.com???

Fans will get an exclusive first look at some of the collection's extensive special features at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International -- which marks Lucasfilm's 35th anniversary as a Comic-Con presence. In 1976, the fledgling film company was looking for innovative, grass-roots ways to promote its underdog release, a film no one expected to succeed -- a space opera known (at the time) only as Star Wars. One of the first film companies to reach out directly to core audiences by way of fan conventions, Lucasfilm will return to the venue to showcase the full evolution of the epic story with a special first look at STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA ON BLU-RAY.

When is this event???????

That's when more will be revealed!

Cover art doesn't mean squat if the audio and video are compromised.

People's attention to slipcovers is downright scary. It makes me relish throwing mine away. Useless wastes of paper that interfere with easy removal of the discs.

This is really the very last image I ever would have wanted to see on the Complete Set...Yeah I get it, but that doesn't mean I like it. The other two are magnificent, but the complete series is BLECH.
Right on, Billie.

You know what? That selection of bonus features pretty much blows, so i think i'll be fine with just the Original Trilogy boxed set. I'm sure all the deleted/alternate scenes will be on youtube the day of release anyway.

No Empire of Dreams on blu ray = FAIL. That was such a killer doc, can't believe they're excluding it from this set.

Since these are going to b X certified, I am really curious if there will be special SW THX trailers!?!?!?

Also, I hope the SW BD logo will be on all discs.
