Ha!

Lucas (the creator and scriptwriter): "This is the ship from the beginning of Star Wars."

I agree, kinda funny ... to me it will always be the same ship lol here is what I read here http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tantive_IV

Note: It does say that the article needs to be rewritten lol but as of now the correct answer is that it is NOT the same ship

Lucas has often said himself, that the only things considered "canon" are what's produced internally by Lucasfilm. At present, that would include the six films, and the multiple TV iterations of the "Clone Wars". That's it. Everything else - the cards, comics, books, etc. - all of it is considered "non-canon", according to Lucas. He authorizes such things so others can offer their take on the story, but he also limits their creative freedom rather strictly, so nothing in the EU directly conflicts with the films. There's been the occasional exception though, like when Lucas personally gave James Luceno permission to address Kamino's archive disappearance in his "Labyrinth of Evil" novel.

I could see myself doing that too.

I think it's nice as well, but it's not spectacular. It'll take a while getting used to, I guess.

That's for sure.

Alright, I think we got that now.

Looks like Qui Gon on an Eopie, but might as well be Obi Wan on one.

Lol I was really hoping for a mind-altering trailer to end all trailers, but unlike some people, I can wait (for Comic Con).

Has anyone found out if this will include the old supplements? I was wondering if they would be using them again or sticking to all new content.

That original poster is so much better and reflects the dynamic adventure aspect of the story.
Just to throw my dos centavos into the mix here, but sorry Beast, I am in agreement with KORIN and ZoetMB... the Complete Saga cover makes me want to . I much, much, MUCH prefer the separate trilogy covers, esp. the way they have a mirror effect to them (Yoda facing left with montage on right, Darth Vader facing right with montage on left)... very cool and is more or less a new take on the old posters. But the Saga cover... WTF?!?

Granted, it is all about the innards, but I display my fave box sets (at least, my fave looking boxes ) on top of my DVD/BD case, with all the "regular" ones inside. (Currently all DVD: Batman Anthology, Indiana Jones Trilogy, LotR EE, Matrix Ultimate, and Star Wars 2004.) Now that we know that the Saga set will only have 1 extra disc rather than 3, it makes the cover even less forgivable. In fact, I am considering leaving the SW DVD box on top and "hiding" the BD box with the rest of my collection.

Making matters worse, I pre-ordered the Saga set with a coupon (50% off... you know where... ), so when it arrives I might in theory be able to do an even exchange for the two trilogy sets (since they add up to the pre-coupon price), but chances are I will only be credited my actual purchase price, nullifying the use of the coupon. Guess I should have just pre-ordered all three with the coupon to have myself "covered" (har har har), but I thought that the black, blue, and plum covers were the actual covers. Silly me.

Thankfully the LotR EE BD box looks suh-weet, so that will definitely get top and center billing on my case. I will be sad to retire the EE DVD box from the spot is has maintained for the last 6+ years, but it will definitely find a nice home somewhere else in the house (bedroom ent. ctr. possibly...?).

EDIT: Hopefully some, dedicated, like-minded, PhotoShop savvy fan will make a new cover for the Saga using the separate trilogy art... then I will just print it out and glue it the frak on!

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled bickering.

VSP

Perhaps today was the Original Announcement and later on we'll get the altered, Special Edition Announcement, followed by the removal of the Unaltered Original Announcement from the internet, making us fight over which is better - the OA or the UOA.

I'm almost tempted to just get the two seperate trilogy's instead of the whole boxset, mainly because the artwork on both fraking rule.

Nothing. Details regarding the video specs are curiously absent from the press release.

Fun, interesting fact:

Katie Lucas (George's youngest daughter, one of the writers of the Clone Wars series) helped pick out the art work for the Blu Rays.
