OK... I admit I´m a little disappointed. I really hope the rest of the specials and the actual Films will make up for yesterdays´s news ...

Concerning the boxart I was hoping for something like this. Drew Struzan was a part of Star Wars art since the beginning.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is disliking the complete saga artwork.

I mean, I get what their going for but it just doesn't work for me. Like, I know the saga is about Anakin's journey now (for me, though, I'll always think of it as Luke's story) but it's still.... not good.

But as a user previously said, it's about the movies IN the box, and not the box itself so I'm still going to be getting it of course.

I do love the look of the Original Trilogy box set, and the prequel one is ok too (better than the complete saga).

I love the Complete Saga artwork, and what makes it better is that it appeared in my Amazon Gold Box this morning, so I get an extra $4.50 off!

I guess I'm in the minority because I hate the separate trilogy box art, way too busy. I don't love or hate the complete saga art, I think it's fiting, but could be better. After seeing the other two, I'm just glad they didn't somehow make it even busier.

Actually, I think its more nepotism... I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Lucas brood actually painted the cover for the Complete Saga considering how one of them is writing for the Clone Wars series...

At some point in time, Uncle George DID say that the whole story was told through the "eyes" of the droids, so C-3PO (and R2) would have been a fitting choice for the set. 3PO and R2 ARE the only two characters to appear in every episode as the same "entity". Although Anakin and Kenobi do technically appear in all six, their incarnations are vastly changed between Episode I to Episode VI. Even Palpatine, who was instrumental in the whole saga, does not actually appear in Ep IV.

...Yet.

Exactly. Note to all the other "Lucas is not getting my business!" people: Step aside or get trampled by the other 50 MILLION people who WILL buy this for the love of the movies.

Nice idea. I would have been happy with this.

I like the earlier version with basic yellow-on-black, but then, as someone else said, I would have also been happy with the placeholder art with the steel logo...

The yellow outlined text is a nice homage to the original logo at the beginning of the crawl. Good job.

As for the actual box art, I liked them at first -- the two trilogy boxes are very reminiscent of the original poster style -- but the more I look at them, the less I like them. A bit too haphazard, maybe. As for the Complete Saga box, I just think its too generic! Anakin doesn't look like Jake Lloyd and if you have to ask if that's Luke in the fade, there's a problem. Do they NOT have to pay these people royalties if they don't actually look like them? Has Lucasfilm stooped to THAT level??

I love the silhouette style posters shown earlier -- got to get my hands on them.

I too would have been THRILLED to see all six of the Drew Struzan posters used for the individual movie boxes. I guess there's still hope for that, although it will probably be a book style package...

But yes... it's just a box.

So how do you think it's gonna be packaged? Like book-style or individual cases?

Either way I'm fine, as long as it's not bigger than 6 blu-ray-cases-worth of space on the shelf

Works for me! Like as said, as long as it isn't bigger than six Blu-ray cases would be, then I don't mind either way

I'm kind of hoping it's packaged like the James Bond Ultimate DVD Collectors Set, where all the individual sets were inside the big box and Casino Royale was separate. That way we get the three boxes.

KORIN - I got to think, maybe on the back we can put Yoda, Obi-Wan and Qui-gon? with the Emperor lurking, like Vader and on the sides we'll have C-3PO and R2...

neither. it's mediocre... which is only appropriate for the star wars franchise lately.

a bit puzzling having the second worst thing about the prequels be the central focus of the complete saga art.

I brought this up earlier in the thread but don't feel like looking through endless pages.

Does anyone know if the movies will be in individual cases inside the boxes or will each trilogy be in 2 bigger cases?

I voted hate it. I dislike the complete saga box art more than the others, but having said that, I don't buy movies for box art. I buy them for the films. So, I can live with it. God knows there'll be a re-release within the next 5 years anyway.

I wouldn't say I love the boxart, I simply like all three, and have preordered the Complete Saga.

As has been mentioned before, I'm buying these for the films and not the box.

As for the cover art & box art - I wouldnt worry. There will be a zillion alternate covers created by the usual suspects here and on other forums so Im sure it wont matter. Ill be storing mine in standard individual BD cases on my shelf. I have actually already printed a few different sets of alternate cover art that I'll be using.

The Box art doesnt matter to me at all - that wont be on the shelf anyway.

I don't think it's been mentioned how the innards are going to be packaged, whether it's going to be individual cases, 2 bundles or a fold out pack similar to the Alien Anthology.
