lots to choose from.
I bought the Tron: Legacy 3D / 2D 5 disc combo pack just because I thought the cover art was better. To me it's a hobby, I collect blu-rays. So yes the cover art is important because putting a new set in my collection is like hanging a piece of art in my house. And yes I may be a little OCD about it but thats just my two cents

Indeed, its the same reason people collect digibooks and steelbooks, because it's part of the experience and it's nice to have one of your favourite films packaged in a nice way. Again, it doesn't mean I wouldn't GET the film otherwise, if I like it then having the film on blu-ray is the most important thing.

Well, I don't buy movies solely for the artwork, regardless of the format, but there's a few films where I think the studios did a wonderful job. Many times, though, I wind up designing my own covers in Photoshop, because a lot of films don't get the artistic respect they deserve. I agree that having the best audio and video presentation is the definition of Blu-Ray; otherwise, what's the point? But sometimes, I simply enjoy taking the case off the shelf, looking at the artwork, and putting it back. Nothing beats watching the movie itself, but when done properly, the artwork can be a simpler extension of that experience.

It's so cool listening to other people explain what they like and dislike when it comes to all things movies. What a great hobby!

I do appreciate a nice box art but it's something I can live with or with out. I buy for the film. As ling as it doesn't come in digibook form I could care less if it came in a brown paper bag..lol

I am very happy with the the star wars complete saga blu-ray box set the cover art looks great. I also like the it that we are getting those vintage star wars documentary's The making of star wars , SPFX The Making Of The Empire Strikes Back and Classic Creatures The Making Of Return Of The Jed , and also some new documentary's like star wars tech , antinomy of a dewback , ! A Conversation with the Masters: The Empire Strikes Back 30 Years Later and more. Also I am looking forward to seeing the dealted scenes from all 6 films and the tour of the lucasfilm archives and I think in the star wars archives discs we will get the all the trailers for the films and maybe the rest of the past dvd documentary's but we will see. Overall very happy with all of the content with the star wars complete saga blu-ray box set release and I can't wait for September 16th to watch the films in full 1080p and DTS HD Master Audio 6.1.

The Alien anthology is an excellent example of old films being brought up to great HD standards (especially the first two movies), yet none of the films in that set amazed me or blew me away.

This is what I hope to get out of SW. Great transfers without Lucas overreaching (as he often does), that will impress me as far as can be done given their age. If he DNRs them to death (though I highly doubt it), or drastically alters them even further to make them "better," I will probably return my OT set as damaged and wash my hands of the SW universe once and for all.

Yes, but he was not specific in details.

Most likely he just read that info off of this thread or another Star Wars BD forum.

The cover art looks awesome!

Anyone have a list of known changes the movie will have?

I do care about cover art, I can't stand on awful cover art, and I wish all BD came with slipcover and stick forever, not only for 1st few months then gone.

---------------
Anyway for me, the Complete Saga cover art look fine, it actually quite pretty and feel.

ForceFreak over at millenniumfalcon.com posted this as the new Obi-Wan scream to scare off the Sandpeople, that was confirmed in a podcast last year by Wood.

The source coming from "The Sounds of Star Wars"-

It's artwork, and I don't think it's particularly bad. You want bad? Look at the BD cover of Groundhog Day or the DVD of Real Genius.

Even then, it doesn't affect the quality of the A/V presentation and I don't even have to look at the covers when I browse my shelf: all I see is the spine.

Certainly not worth getting on the internet and griping about it constantly.

Slipcovers are a redundant waste of paper. They go to extreme lenghts to keep BD cases eco-friendly then they waste needlessly with those stupid slipcovers that do absolutely nothing to protect a disc.

To be fair only the music was flopped (really hard to tell unless you're specifically listening for it).

Even then, the surrounds were originally mono.

That's so awful that it has to be real. It's so ridiculously over-processed.

While I had heard that the scream would be changed I hope that isn't the new one. The last bit of it is creepy, but the beginning is goofy sounding.

And 1 point about the difference between the films on the HDTV Broadcasts vs the new blu-ray release of all 6 films. Yes the 6 films have been on HDTV for years but they are not 1080P scans for HDTV they are 1080I scans. The blu-rays of all 6 films will be in higher resolution than those HDTV broadcasts. Blu-ray's are 1080P resolution most cable providers don't broadcast in 1080P Directv does but only for their PPV movies.

If covers dont matter then why dont they just put everything out on blank covers with just the title.

Also on those spike showings they dont do OAR so their zooming in blurs the pic as well.

They used footage from all 6 films in the series, to create awesome "mini-movies" that followed particular storylines in the saga, each one complete with a certain piece of music by John Williams. I didn't really care for the intros by Ian McDiarmid, but the videos themselves in HD would be a great extra to have on this set.
Agreed! I would love to get this in HD, the audio would rock! Would have been great to have it included with the set, but I'd even be happy to buy it as it's own standalone release.
