Actually I don't think it would totally die. Even if all the complaining stopped tomorrow the Usual Suspects would undoubtedly still be here defending Lucas from all the mean things people were still thinking.

Disc art is better, but the lack of it won't keep me from buying. Adding it later wouldn't make me double dip, either. Big shrug on that as an issue, I guess

Disc art complaints? Who cares.

I'm interested more so in the movies than anything else. I'll watch all the Special Features once in a great while, but it's the movies that I'll watch over and over.

PT vs. OT doesn't matter to me. It's all Star Wars. I do prefer Ep IV, V, VI, and III over I and II, but I'll still watch all of them.

It's a major issue if he is calling this his Complete Saga and charging 80+ bucks a pop...but I know I know, If it were someone else it would be ok to criticize this release.

I don't understand your comments on this. The 9 disc set is the complete saga of Star Wars movies. If this set included EVERYTHING you bicker about, they would have to call it something like "the complete package." Most people understand the term saga as meaning all of the films together

So what your trying to say is it's not the complete saga because it dosn't have art on the discs? If thats true for you then you need to get real. There are more important things missing from this release such as the unaltered trilogy (I don't really mind but I can see why some do) and you only want to say that this is not complete because of no disc art.

Honestly I would have no problem if that was the final disc art I personally think it looks good.

The only thing Iam agravted about with this release right now, is that amazon still hasnt changed my arrive by date from Sept 27th to Sept 16th.
And with that having to do with amazon not lucas, I can say iam nothing but super excited to get this set, would I like to have the theatrical cuts, heck yeah! but Iam super cool just to be having the movies period!

I do have to say it would have made more sense for Lucasfilm to give us the indy box set this year for the 30th anniversary and the star wars box set next year for the 35th anniversry, instead of the reverse

Like I said, I definitely think this is a possibility. However, someone on another forum brought up a good point...

If the disc art has been finalized those are beyond bland.

If the disc art hasn't been finalized why are they giving out pamphlets showing the discs?

Ultimately, as others have stated, disc art is a trivial thing. It's just amusing how a set that has supposedly been in development for years looks so lackluster and cheap. There are those who will defend anything Lucasfilm does, so I don't really take their opinions regarding anything too seriously (just as I don't those who hate on everything).

Here's hoping what is revealed at Comic Con shows us some kick ass picture quality and provides some definitive clues that the mistakes of the 2004 DVDs have been fixed. Otherwise, this release will have been a fail in about every respect.

I didn't realize this was a George Lucas/Prequel circle jerk.
