No doubt - for many of us, once this comes out they could fold up the blu-ray format and we wouldnt even be that crushed. Angry - but not as crushed as wed be not getting Star Wars. Actually, after the Alien set, the LOTR EE set , and the Star Wars set, Im almost content/satisfied from a catalog standpoint , sans a few key titles Id like to personally see.

Wow....no love for Indy then? I think we need Indy and Lawrence of Arabia.

This could of very well been posted and/or asked already but does anyone know if the complete set includes the same box art if you were to buy the original and prequel trilogies (the Yoda and Vader cover arts)? Thanks!

The EU is "C-canon", which is third tier.
Right but even C-canon is canon.

As far as I am concerned, and the vast majority of Star Wars fans are concerned, the EU doesn't exist. If it isn't in the films it doesn't exist. A film evidenced explanation ALWAYS trumps any EU explanation. If you need the EU to explain something in the films, there is no "official" explanation only one proposed by the EU which is no more correct than other conjecture supported by the films. Ask the casual Star Wars fan who Admiral Thrawn is and you will be met with a blank stare. The EU exists purely for the die hard fans and thank God Lucas has done a sufficient job of preventing it from seeping too much in the films.
100% agree.

Haha. For a laugh, the Holiday "Life Day" Special is fun to watch. The way it just starts off with the wookies making sounds back and forth for seemingly 10 minutes and then the little kid watching a strange music video, and on and on, it's just surreal. The fact that it contains the original cast in character is sort of cool and that it's so bad makes it good. For anyone who has never seen it I heavily encourage it; but DO NOT expect it to be a good storyline or good acting. If you watch for anything other than a laugh you will hate it.

And don't forget what should be another king of blu ray releases - Jurassic Park. Star Wars should be the best though; I can't wait to hear Jar Jar's throaty, unintelligible voice in full high definition audio while nobody can tell what's going on!

Exactly. I checked it out once, and turned it off after 5min. thinking WTF???

Everyone should be warned like this.
I am sure it won't be found on this or any other SW release.

I read that GL was quoted as saying if he had enough time and a hammer he would personally track down every copy of the Holiday Special and smash them! It truly is a bizarre show, but does feature the first ever appearance of Boba Fett, in cartoon form.
I guess the cartoon of Boba Fett within the Holiday Special cannot be considered 'canon' either since it doesn't make sense with the PT.

I don't think so, I think the complete set will hold all discs in a Digipak so the separate trilogies won't fit (or be needed) unless it's just a slipcase with the a third case inside for the extra discs and the Yoda and Vader cases. So I imagine we'll have two 3 disc Digipaks (the Yoda and Vader ones) and a 9 disc Digipak for the complete Saga.

Does that mean George should have included the Holiday Special and the two Ewok movies on the blu-rays because they do exist . He had a hand in them in 'his universe'. He should stop trying to avoid them and give them to us, lol.

I was hoping for both lol. I really like all the cover arts, especially that Vader one.

I may be wrong (I usually am), but logistically it wouldn't make sense unless the original trilogy, the prequels and the special features all have separate cases which fit in the Saga box/slipcase.

I still don't understand why the separate releases don't have an extras disc with them, it seems a bit mean to include them in complete set. Especially when each separate set is half the price of the complete set.

That's simple: Only true SW fans, who love the whole Saga, get the bonus discs as a reward, so to speak.

Well, one way or the other, I'm glad I'm getting the Complete Saga, with complete 100% excitement.

To provide an incentive to buy the premium product and adding extra value to the Complete Saga, not that odd really.

There'll probably be a marketing overdrive nearer the release.

Kind of funny really, when I bought the DVD's I just saw them in store and bought them (and since I always owned a non SE copy of ANH, I was pretty surprised by the changes). Now I have pre ordered them from day 1, 8 months in advance

Yeah, as soon as it was announced, I went to Amazon UK and pre-ordered it straight away. It was a no-brainer for me, with a broken VHS machine and no DVDs meaning that I was being starved of Star Wars. But all that's turned around with this release.
