It's funny you should say that. Reportedly, the Blu-Ray of AMERICAN GRAFFITI is DNR'ed to death. I dont know if Lucas had any involvement with that release but I canceled my STAR WARS pre-order from Amazon. I'm going to wait and see what the verdict is on the PQ.

Hmmm..that makes no sense at all, especially in light of the fact that the PT is just plain terrible. I hate to burst you GL fanboys bubble but the PT will never be held in high regard as far as films go. Oh and in response to the above poster in 1983 they were not half of them, they were all of them.

So while you guys are arguing about whether or not your fans or not, I'm going to talk about the actual release.

Does anyone know if what they've announced so far, as for special features, is all we're getting. Because I haven't heard any official word, but just a lot of pessimistic assumptions.

The reason you've not heard anything beyond what's already been announced is because that's all that's been announced. Since there's nothing new to discuss the thread has once again spiraled into the depths of "same old, same old."

Agreed. The DVD just isn't good enough and hearing the Duel of The Fates in lossless and seeing Darth Maul in HD will just be too good!!!!!

i think people might be a little disappointed - in HD, all the tricks are removed. Maul might just look like some guy in red and black paint. then again, maybe they will CGI him for the bluray release

Saw it in 35MM on a giant screen, and already in HD in MPEG4 satellite 1080p.

Won't happen.

I don't think that's fair either. A fan doesn't need to agree with everything the franchise does or enjoy everything the franchise offers. When criticizing a favourite sports team, many feel the same way in that "A true fan won't say anything bad about their team." However, I feel fans should be able to voice their displeasure at a team's lack of execution, or in the case of Star wars, some of the PT movies or GL's controversial "originally intended" changes. I don't think anyone would be here if they weren't a fan.

I'm the first person to defind aspects of the special editions and the prequels, but it seems like some of the folks hereabouts have taken some sort of fealty oath in blood to the golden calf that is George Lucas.
