Actually, I take that back - you CAN have factual points like the film has a blue hue to it, its 3 hours long, there isnt a lot of action, etc, etc. But most arguments are ALL opinion based. Just like which film is best. Thats a debate that will never end.

Just because an opinion is subjective doesn't mean that some opinions aren't more valid than others. What counts is the strength and integrity of the critical evaluation of the film, as with any criticism. That's why there have been great film critics, such as Andrew Sarris and Pauline Kael, and not so great film critics (like most people who evaluate films on the web today). I can appreciate the integrity of those critics, but still disagree with them on the films that they like.

Here it comes... the first tidbit of the upcoming Blu-Ray Set specials. It´s a clip of an interview with Ewan McGregor:

All these sales going on lately make me wonder how much lower this $90 will be by black friday.

The lightsaber BD intro is by far the best part, as the interview is an old hat.

My strategy is this: I am buying the TCS first day of release, have it shipped the fastest way possible, then when the set goes on sale, similarly to the BTTF trilogy, I will get another one, and possibly the two separate trilogies as well.

I was actually thinking about pre-ordering the individual box sets (123) and (456) box sets, just because I am guessing they will have better packaging. Who knows though?
I'd be willing to bet the complete saga would just be the two trilogy sets together with a big slipcase...but who knows??

Just to be clear, stuff like this isn't exactly a deal-breaker. There are bound to be inconsistencies.

What I don't get it is why people sometime seem so hell-bent on rationalizing every single one of those inconsistencies. Instead of engaging in all sorts of mental gymnastics to try to perfectly mesh the two trilogies I don't know why people don't just say 'eh, yeah, that one doesn't really track...whattayagonnado'.

For instance, does anybody really believe Anakin would have no idea his wife was carrying twins?
Of course not.

Does it really matter?

Eh, whattayagonnado.
Well, my best friends were two twin girls until I was around five years old. When people start to challenge the story, which people do around this time, it then branches off into familiar directions, or at least for myself. This story was not a walk in the park.

and costs. one site in Canada has the full set for $99 but the individual sets for $55 each. i am guessing a lot will sell the full set cheaper than the 2 individual sets together.

I personally rank TESB lower than the other 5 films and that drives some of the rabbid TESB fans just bonkers. But, thats the way I feel and it is NOT right or wrong - its just my take on it. Lots of people hate TPM or find ANH to be boring. Thats cool with me - no need to argue or chest-thump about it. Just roll with your opinions and dont worry 'bout it.

We are getting the most anticipated release EVER on the best format EVER..... the world is better off because of it. Lets rejoice!!!!

just because they are subjective does not mean they are not legit. take jabba from the special edition - is it entirely subjective to say he didn't look life-like or like the puppet from jedi? but i do agree that the debate will never end because everyone is coming to it from different levels - different age, different perspective, etc. besides, different opinions are important. if we all had the same opinion, we would all be wearing white plastic suits with matching helmets and be poor shots who could hit a jedi at 20 paces

What extras will be on the star wars archives discs and if at all will the extras from the star wars dvd's be carried over to those blu-rays?

I am very excited for the blu-ray release of the star wars saga as well looking forward to September 16th 2011 as well. I already pre-ordered the complete saga on amazon.com. September 16th can't come soon enough.

NO, because only the original Jaws was directed by Steven Spielberg, nor was there ANY other involvement on Steven's part:

From Wikipedia:
In October 1975, Steven Spielberg told the San Francisco Film Festival that "making a sequel to anything is just a cheap carny trick" and that he did not even respond to the producers when they asked him to direct Jaws 2. He told the audience that the planned plot was to involve the sons of Quint and Brody hunting a new shark.[6] Brown said that Spielberg did not want to direct the sequel because he felt that he had done the "definitive shark movie".

Your point is completely moot, and completely worthless, to say the least.
Try harder next time.

The Matrix films would probably have been a much better example.
