This work was cut. The cut(s) were made at the request of the distributor to achieve a particular category. To obtain this category cuts of 0m 1s were required. Details of cuts below may contain spoilers of plot details. Show details ť
Company chose to cut sight of a head butt to achieve a "PG". A "12" uncut was available to the distributor.

They already have the option to use the '12' cut from the previous classification which no doubt they will as the boxset will contain the '12' rated Revenge of the Sith' anyway so it can no longer put buyers off.

Yep. If they don't use it, then it'll be a bad decision. So AotC will very likely be uncut.

Yeah it would make no sense for lucasfilm to cut this to achieve a PG rating when the boxset has been pushed up to a 12 by ROTS. No sales would be lost, unlike with having a higher rated film in theatres. It's a new master as well so they'd have to actively cut it again before resubmitting it... Not worth the effort on their part at all.

Hmm, I wonder hwo effective it would be to cut the hubs out of bluray cases, trim the sleeve portion loose in those cardboard pages, and attach the hubs to each page...

Currently DVD is the only format I have the theatrical cuts of the movies in -- even if it is an old LaserDisc transfer.

Except Blu-rays are scratch proof. I've heard that people have gone to work on discs using screwdrivers to test this fact and the Blu-ray has still held up.

I found myself wandering the halls with Jimmy Martin (from Television’s The Big Movie Mouth-Off) and came across the exhibit for the Star Wars Blu-ray. First, a representative from Lucasfilm let me play with their new app (that we reported on earlier) that gives you a sneak peak to just a taste of special features you’ll be getting on the Blu-ray. For those who haven’t downloaded the app, it gives you a brief behind the scenes look at every film in the Star Wars saga and gives it to you in pretty stunning detail. It has moving menus, video and interview segments, archive photos, and more than I had time to explore in ten minutes.

Then I was ushered into a bunker where a General Doddonna looking fellow was giving a briefing. There was a massive HD monitor set up over the top of a rebel briefing pedestal, much like the one tracking the movements of the Death Star in A New Hope. We were then treated to an abridged presentation of the Battle of Yavin in full 1080 resolution and I have to say it looked absolutely stunning. There were some Special Edition shots included and they seemed to match even more flawlessly than before in high definition. It was really something you just need to see to believe. It’s going to be a stunning looking set. In fact, I was able to handle the box and the concerns over the art, both inside and out, are pretty unfounded. It looks much more well designed and good looking in person than the screen captures could ever lead us to believe.

We're back to the "you can't scratch BDs" arguments again in this thread? Sigh.

I checked out the SW BD app on the iPad and it's not that great. Just a few things for each film -- concept art, some short interviews, etc., all of which will be contained on the BDs.

Good reports from the different websites so far as to what is being shown at comic con of the saga blu-ray box set. Their will probably be more to come throughout the weekend.

Not sure how many of you are gamers and/or xbox 360 gamers but they just announced a new Star Wars special edition xbox 360 bundle. The xbox 360 is white and painted like r2 d2 and the controller is gold chrome like c-3po. The console also makes noises and has other easter eggs like hidden in the disc tray it says: help me obi wan kenobi, your my only hope. AWESOME. You can go to kotaku or gizmodo for pics and all the info.

I have no doubt that the quality of the Blu-Rays will be reference level...
apparently the black crush issue is history:

The only thing I´m a little concerned about is that there are no indications that further digital enhancements have been made at this point. I mean, I really hope they redid Jabba´s musical number or corrected Obi-Wan braid, updated textures, corrected sabers etc ...

I would say instead of scratch proof, they are scratch resistant.

I wish that were true. I've bought several blu-rays (in store and online) and found them already scratched when I opened them. I had to return my first season of Lost twice.

People aren't using their discs as "frisbees". Look at the following image. When discs are packaged like that, every time you remove them or put them back, they get rubbed against a rough surface. Really though, I'm more concerned about them getting rubbed against the edges (the round area). But honestly, I was already planning to put each movie in a separate case with custom artwork, so I don't care that much.
