And you of all people shouldn't even be in this thread dude, you got your own thread for arguing over which versions is better this thread is for talking about the blu ray and you stated on many occasions you are not buying the blu ray so get out of this thread thank you very much, or stop lying about not buying the blu ray and stop being a troll. Because out of all the hostile replies yours are the most hostile and offensive, for gods sake you posted that we are all bots checklist five times i am asking you politely to please leave this thread. I left your thread for the same reason because i had no desire to argue with you anymore because no matter what i said you continued to be a jerk. Stop saying there are two sides and stop calling everyone bots for crying out loud.

That is what i am sick of you cowboy just you, everyone else who has that opinion has been civil you have not. I respect the opinions of those who want the original even if i disagree with them but i do not respect you because you are the one who resorts to name calling and lucas bashing.

I do not think the guy is perfect *i* have stated that many times, *i* have problems with all six films, i have stated that, and i prefer the special editions because *i* want as much star wars as lucas can give, but nowhere did i come along and say lucas is the man you should always agree with what he says yet you continue stating that everyone who disagrees with you is a bot, that sounds like you mean me also and i have stated many times where i disagree with both sides of the argument but you continue to call everyone who disagrees with you a bot so get out.

Now in the comments sections yeah i will stir up some trouble cuz the comments are just popularity contests of who can get the most thumbs up, but here i have been very good about defending my position and respect others, you have done neither you do not defend your position you just call people bots and say that lucas is re-writing history.
lol!

I am going to wait on the reviews, no way I am cancelling right now (I got it at a killer price, so it would take A LOT for me to cancel). Over the last 20 pages there has been discussion (before we got derailed with this whole "I love Lucas!" and "I hate Lucas!" crap) that the colors were still off. One person went as far to get screen caps and compare and found flaws that were not fixed. So, that is reason enough to suspect. As I said, I don't want to cancel, but I also don't want to give money to something that wasn't given a full effort in my opinion. Afterall, it is my money being spent...lol

Indeed. Although that doesn't excuse post spam and leaving (like the duel gif).

Adywan I'm trying to get along with you ok I'm realy am but all you do is attack me and I am doing nothing wrong. Stop with the attacks ok because they are not right . I'm a star wars fan just like you and everyone else. We know the problems from 2004 are on the dvds but hopefully they will not be on the blu-ray box set.

So, just because i don't agree with your opinions i'm attacking you? I'm afraid i can't agree with this so i guess i must be attacking you again. I have different opinions to others but I have been pretty civil in here towards members and have never attacked anyone.

Sorry Adywan my mistake but everytime I have an opinion on star wars you get mad over it . We are all star wars fans to the very end but aruging about the blu ray release is not going to solve anything. We just have to hope for the best ok.

I have not seen Adywan get mad at anyone. If anything he is trying to give multiple in-depth explanations to have others a little more educated as to why all of this is so frustrating to us. He has kept his cool surprisingly well.

I've seen a few of the documentaries on the little iPad app, and the one for ESB, for example, was old material that I hadn't seen before (e.g., Kirschner talking about working with Hamill, Fisher, and Ford and how they're different).

Me too also I'm looking forward to seeing the vintage star wars making of documentaries like the making of star wars , sp fx the making of the empire strikes back and classic creatures the making of return of the jedi and anatomy of a dewback on the restoration on the special editions. I am a little sad that from star wars to jedi the making of a saga is not on the blu-ray extra features as well as empire of dreams those a 2 good documentaries on the making of the original trilogy.

The video glitch pointed out in both the 2004 transfer and the video from comic con doesn't matter how long it lasts because that wasn't the point of mentioning it at all. Sure, you can't really notice it unless you know its there. It was purely to point out the fact that both videos were taken from the same master and if in fact the video shown at comic con was from the blu-rays, then it is proof they used the same master for the Blu-Rays as this is an impossibility for the same glitch to happen at the exact same point if a new transfer was made.

And the other problems i pointed out about the blown out detail on the bright areas in ESB last a lot longer that 1 second, but you just mention the shortest one just to make it look like the problems can't even be seen. The lost detail in the bright areas in Cloud City last a hell of a lot longer than 1 sec and those were just a few examples of how bad that transfer is. And if they have lightened up the video using the same masters then that is going to destroy even more detail and open up a hell of a lot more problems as was pointed out earlier.

Where did he say that? Can you provide the proof that he said that? It was a few years ago that it was said that they already have the HD versions ready to go but that Lucas was waiting for Blu-Ray to become more mainstream before releasing them and that they were also finding new stuff in the archives all the time so were waiting to see what's in there before finalizing the set. Don't forget that George was against Blu-Ray as he was a HD-DVD supporter, which is another reason it hasn't appeared on a HD medium earlier.
Sorry what i meant to say was that at last years star wars celebration Lucas said that he wished that they would come out this year(meaning 2010) but they won't come out till 2011.

I thought he said that cause he might be doing new transfers of the movies.

We don't have absolute, concrete proof at this point, but none the less A LOT of the promotional images, videos, etc, are really pointing in that direction right now. While I do HOPE for a new transfer (and will be very happy if we get one provided that it isn't botched like the last one), if I were a gambling man, I wouldn't exactly place my bets on it given what we do know so far. The images that have come out so far indicates that it may well be the 2004 masters reused again. There is no real basis to assume that there will be a new transfer short of just hoping and wishing for one at this point.

I think everyone here (even the ones making these points about the images that have come out, myself included) are just taking a careful watch and wait stance, and ultimately will wait until reviews of the actual discs come out to make a final judgement on it.

But that being said, there's really nothing wrong with speculating in the mean time, especially when we are basing it on the images being used by Lucasfilm to officially promote this release.

And if you want to say that we shouldn't even have this speculative conversation at all, then maybe there just shouldn't be any discussion what-so-ever in this thread of ANY sort until the box set is actually released.

The kirshner interview was taken from the lost Making of ESB documentary by Michael Parbot.

Agreed. I got the saga at a smoking price...and that is the only reason I'm not cancelling at this point. I will be very disappointed if the color/audio issues are not fixed though. That is my main gripe. I'll never be completely happy with the SE or the PT...but my stance has softened over time thanks to my son and the outstanding Clone Wars series.
