That's why I am hoping that either that redone shot or the whole doc will end up on the BD set. It would obviously make a great extra for it.

I had that on my computer at one time a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure its been lost in one of the resets I've done. If I come across it I will post it.

Forget the opening. The asteroid chase should be awesome. Seismic charges in lossless audio!

I still recommend watching them in release order, so episode 4,5,6,1,2,3. I just think the big reveal in ESB should be kept as a surprise to first time viewers. When I was a little kid I was in shock after this revelation in ESB. I kept having to ask my brother if he thought Vader was lying or not. Man, the good ol' days of me and my brother being young kids just sitting around discussing the Star Wars movies and playing with all the toys.

there is no big reveal in Empire, even when I was a kid before I ever watched it I already knew Darth Vader was Lukes father, there is not a living person on this planet that doesn't no that by know it is a famous line quoted over and over countless times in other movies and shows to the point there is no keeping it a secret.

If you got to experience that as a kid at the theater great cool good for you but times have changed and nobody is going to watch Episode one not already knowing that little boy is Luke's evil daddy. Just saying. Growing up only way I got to watch Star Wars was when they came on network tv, um NBC if I remember correctly, and I ended up originally watching them Star Wars first, a year or maybe more latter the first half of Jedi, then a year or two latter Empire, then at 14 when I got SE VHS for my birthday I got to finally see the end of Jedi after all those years of only seeing up to the part where Vader lights up Luke's light saber.

Now sure I was confused for a long time what the hell was going on but once I got to watch the complete saga, Special Editions, in order all the way through all it id was make me love Star Wars even more.

I am going to be watching them first time in number order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and then 6. After that I will be watching the special features discs probably in one sitting and upon repeat viewings after wards probably as I do now with my DVD sets, where I tend to watch Phantom Menace and A new Hope the most. I rarely watch Clones or Jedi unless I am doing a complete run.

My little brother and I actually pretended to be sick so we could skip school and watch ANH, ESB and ROTJ back to back on VHS while our parents were at work - I was about 14 and him 10. Happy days...

I'm talking about viewing it in this order for little kids who have never seen them before.

I remember many things from my childhood but I can't remember if I had known vader was lukes father before I saw the movie: or even if I had not known, would I have even cared when it was revealed. However you show these films to your children, it is unknown whether they will retain memories of watching it. And besides, it may very well be just as surprising that anikan turns evil as it is to learn that vader is lukes father. They is no way for us to understand since it is common knowledge that it is so.

I remember being "sick" and missing school to watch the OT when I was little as well. Good times. I don't get people who say A New Hope is too slow or too boring for today's children. I am a child of the 90s and everyone my age loved Star Wars and they loved it even before the "enhanced" Special Editions came on the scene.

Hmm . . . This is a very interesting order to watch the films in, and I think I can see why you recommend this. Is it because the prequels serve as a sort of flashback after the fact that Vader claims himself to be Luke's father, followed by the fact that ESB in itself ends on a downer?

However, I wouldn't watch the films in this order. Personally, I already know everything there is to know about these films, so I'll be watching them in chronological order, 1-6.

The only other order I would consider watching them in besides 1-6, would be

4, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6.

The reason being that after 5 you have the bombshell landed that Luke is Vaders son. If you watch them in my order, it isn't till episode 3 that you find that out and then episode 5 builds even more to that moment.

Will there be any further changes? Nothing has been submitted to the BBFC, and previously even the minor changes to the special effects had to be passed.

Jurassic park features have been approved and that is released after Star Wars.

Perhaps they have put an embargo on the approval to keep the secret? I hope so as none of the special features or menus have been approved either, which was the case for the special edition DVD's in 2004. They must have been approved surely as the disc production must have already started?

I noted this in the Australian Star Wars thread but we don't get much traffic there. All the films were classified by the Australian Government again in late June. The bonus discs were also classified and the three discs have content totaling 927 minutes: http://classification.gov.au/www/cob...5?OpenDocument

Regarding changes, the classification site shows RoTS, ANH, ESB and RotJ as "modified" and TPM and AotC as "original". Don't take this to mean changes in terms of content though - sometimes it can be something as minor as them changing one of the warnings like "coarse language" etc.

Digital bits is reporting the set will contain 45 extended and deleted scenes, so perhaps no additons to the films but stand alone only.

Thanks for that, looks like the bbfc is playing it's cards close to it's chest, it tends to give a wealth of detail about what is 'modified' which leads me again to believe they have embargoed the classification until release.

Either way, as the UK gets the set on the 12th September, everyone will be able to make an informed purchase decision based on the information being available 4 days in advance.

Shame they have not changed TPM. Was looking forward to an extended Qui Gonn Darth Maul lightsabre battle on Tatooine. Have to hope it is included in the extended scenes extras.

But more interestingly, does this mean no digital Yoda. Surely amendments like that would have to be reclassified?
