Actually; Maul has three lines in TPM . I like Maul, but he was short lived and did not get much of a chance to grow on you. Dooku had two movies to make you hate/love him, lol.

I think the big difference between the 2004 masters and the blu-ray masters really is going to be the fact that Lucasfilm didn't have to rush the blu-ray version. I remember reading articles stating that they were forced to meet a deadline for the DVDs in 2004, meaning the quality suffered and they cut corners. I really don't think that's going to be the case here. I just don't see any reason for us to jump the gun on it until we see the reviews or actual footage from the blu-rays. I mean those screen shots from comic-con were pretty damn good, and showed that they had fixed some of the scenes in question already...I'm honestly not worried about it.

Are those lines something to the effect of "Yes, my lord." x 3?

Star Wars: Prequel Trilogy and Star Wars: Original Trilogy are now $39.99 ea. which makes it $79.98 for both. The Complete Saga is still $89.99.

If you think about it, Maul was beaten by a Padawan, while Dooku was able to easily handle that same Padawan and (the chosen one) Anakin Skywalker at the same time, twice. It was only after Anakin was prodded into tapping into his anger that he was able to defeat Dooku.

But the complete saga has an extra disc.

I hope you enjoy them, they are pretty good. 1st season is more kiddish, but 2nd season is a darker, and even the 3rd season is more darker. I really like them, especially since the "real saga" is done

Agreed. My hunch is picture quality wise, we will be happy. I'm not worried about that.

Can I ask why people are under the impression that the transfers on these films are going to be messed up and horrible? I have not read the whole thread so just curious. I think that the transfers will look great

I've watched a few episodes here & there. I really liked the one about the clones defending their outpost and the one aboard Grevious' ship. I'm finding them to be more well written than the PT.

Even though people post this stuff about the movies and the blu-ray and the packaging, I'm still buying the saga set. I'm not worried about every little detail(though it would be nice if it were all perfect), I'll still own this set (and the next one if they fix it again, lol).

To sum it up, it's mostly because there are indications that they are re-using the same 2004 master which had some serious issues with contrast and color timing. The most obvious instance of this was in muted pinkish lightsabers.

This is a magnum opus of a BD release, easily in the running for #1 most anticipated, highest-grossing, etc. If ever a set of films deserves the absolute best transfer, best master, most attention to detail, it's this set.

We won't know for sure until reviews start to be posted, but a lot of people are convinced it's the same 2004 master and the color won't be corrected.

Personally I remain cautiously optimistic and hope for the best.

Hope that helps sum it up a bit.

And the next time you hear Darth Maul say those lines, think of the this line, uttered by Shaun's flatmate in "Shaun of the Dead":

"Well f--k a doodle doo."

...because it's the same actor.

I don't think Lucas realized how popular Maul was going to be. But it would have made for a better story had he been the only sith apprentice for the entire PT. No Christopher Lee, no General Greivous (or have Maul be woudned in battle and become General Grievous) and flesh out his story over all 3 movies, not to overshadow Anakin, of course.

I actually have to agree, yet that was the purpose of the Clone Wars, to go more in depth with the characters leading up to Revenge of the Sith. The only thing I have against The Clone Wars is that it started when Anakin is a trained jedi knight, not when he was a padawan/growing jedi. Then again, you just have to watch the 2003-2004 anime style Clone Wars till after Anakin's initiation.

yes that helps thank you. As for me I would like that color to be corrected but if they don't I am still getting this set as long as the transfer is nice and detailed and dosent contain to much DNR or EE. I do hope they correct the color if not its not a deal breaker for me

To be honest I hadn't noticed the 2004 DVD problems cause I never read about it. Except I obviously noticed that luke's saber is green in a new hope for that one scene.

Dooku really had less than that ... You never even saw him till a bit over halfway thru AOTC and he only had once scene in ROTS ... he had more screen time than maul but not by much. I thnk the Clone Wars really fleshes out the character of Dooku, and have done an amazing job of it!!!

Huh?

I am confused here.

Ray Park... Nick Frost... not seeing the connection...?

Edit: Neverrrrrrrrrmind, I had to do some IMDBing. Shaun's brother Pete provides the voice for Ray Park's Maul. Nifty! (Silly of me to assume Ray Park would be allowed to speak his own dialog, haha).

I just feel like people who are freaking out are jumping the gun. This set isn't being rushed like the 2004 set was. They've actively being working on this for a long time, where as they quickly put together the 2004 discs to meet a deadline, and honestly cut corners to make sure it was done. I really don't think they'd mess up a release like this. I think everything will be fixed, and those comic-con shots seemed to indicate that was indeed the case. I remain cautiously optimistic about it as well.
