Another report on the event: http://thehdroom.com/news/Star-Wars-...rt-1-of-3/9424

This report has stills from the Prequels. Could be issued stills by Lucasfilm of the look of the films. It's not stated clearly.

There is no shot of Han shooting first....Lucas has really taken a lot of heat for that scene (rightfully so) and all ways defended his decision.

Regarding the possibility of changes to the films...

FSK the German ratings board have a list of features and films from the Complete Saga blu ray that they have had to re-classify for the blu in June/July...

After translation...

ANH - They've added "new version" after it as a description.
ROTJ - They've added "revised version" after it.

Can't see a change in the running time but believe that they round it up to the neatest running time.

Food for thought...who's hungry?

Excellent! Thanks for the link! God, that's 3 out of 3 super positive so far.

And they confirmed they watched some of both ANH and ESB and were more than impressed!!

OK, I just started reading part 2 of the HTF website's review, and i have one question so far: what exactly is this "Humdinger glitch" that's being referred to?

that was the block of glitchy data across the bottom of the screen during the Death Star dogfight in Episode IV. Humdinger was the username of the person who pointed it out first.

Oh, okay; thanks for the explanation. I never noticed anything like that, so it'll probably go over my head again for the new release.

EDIT: Thanks for the screencap, Duffy; never saw that before.

Just guessing here, but I think Lucas probably changed it to show a slight alteration in Vader's mood, after failing to convince Luke to join him in "Empire".

I was wondering when somebody was going to bring that up.

I will pick out a Star Wars related one shortly.

I don't think they need to CGI replace Yoda from ESB or RotJ. But some enhancements wouldn't suck.

Especially when he's stiff and clearly a puppet during walking or when Luke puts him down in the backpack.

He still holds up remarkably well. Both ESB and ROTJ do. ANH on the other hand, needs all the help it gets.

Am I the only who finds the set over priced. £67.69 on Amazon UK.

I bought the Superman Blu Ray box for £30, that has 8 disks and 5 films, or 7 if you count the alternate versions of 1 and 2. Now at £25

The Star Trek original Series complete Blu Ray I bought for £120 with 20 discs in it. Now at £108

I think I might wait until this comes down to £50, it just seems to dear for you get.

To be fair, I wouldn't mind them replacing Yoda with CG for the Special Edition, but only if the Unaltered Original Trilogy was made available on blu-ray.

Puppets, models and matte paintings are a part of 70's-80's filmmaking and I don't think they should be erased from the Star Wars films simply because the technology permits.

But this is the premise of the whole SE debate, so I'll stop now.

So, slather the SEs with as much CG as possible, but just give us access to the UOT.

Well, it seems to me that this thread is really starting to head backwards towards uninteresting debate on the SE and UOT. Can we get back to the Blu-ray now?

Reading the article about the audio updates, I'm wondering what new lines are in the film. Matt makes it sound like they've recorded some new dubs, but maybe that's just my interpretation (or misinterpretation) of what he's trying to say about the process.

No new dubs. Just some background dialogue and such that were recorded at the time but never put into the final film.

You can't look at what box sets cost now...

How much was the Superman set brand new? Star Trek?

However, the UK price is a bit much. If you convert the US price of $89.99 to pounds it's around £55
Star Wars will obviously drop after a few months.

To me, it sounded like the lines were in the film the entire time, but barely audible. They will be more prominent in the BD mix though.

BTW have we heard how many audio mixes we will be getting? Theatrical Stereo? Mono? or just the new 6.1 mix?

It's probably really a case of both. I doubt they did much if any new recordings for the set.

I'd expect any new stuff to really wait for the 3-D releases. Such as hopefully the Yoda/Qui-Gon scene from RotS.

I don't think the DVD's price set went down for almost a year.

And thank you Beast. I was very confused.
(On an unrelated note, I can't get used to your new ID picture. It really threw me).

Both bought new a few months back at £30 and £120 respectively when they wer released. Supes has decreased £5 since Jun 13th and Star Trek £12 since 2nd May.

Hopefully Star Wars will come down a bit, it will probably sell more units than those two combined.
