D8 is listed as a BD-25 and contains around 3 hours of content (not including the fly-thrus and stills and video archives).

Adding EoD and HS to D7 would make it around 8 hours (BD-50).
Adding FSWtJ to D8 would make it around 4 hours (BD-25).
Unfortunately I don't see this happening. There may be some clips from the holiday special as an easter egg, but having these full documentaries as easter eggs just doesn't seem likely.

I have been looking into a way to take all the bonus discs from the PT and the OT bonus disc with Empire of Dreams on it and put them onto one Blu-Ray 50gb recordable disc. So far it does not look like this is possible. It seems possible to take the individual video files and put them all on a disc, but there is no way to keep the menus from each DVD. Hopefully something will come along that will allow me to do what I want.

This is the best I could do quickly without a scanner. Enjoy.

It's not much but still a worthwhile read.

I don't think the full docs are on there either but the point I was making was the space is there and it would be a shame if it went to waste.

I can understand not including something for legal reasons or disc capacity or availability but empty disc space is not good.

Disc 8 should've been dual layer as well.

Or simply add a disc 10 called Classic Documentaries, even if they are in SD, for for the fun to have everything at the same place like the Alien Anthology Box Set...

+1 Those docs really should have made their way over, as well as the PT deleted scenes.

Perhaps there's yet another deleted scene that nobody is aware of was filmed. Damn, C'mon Sept. 16th!

Heh. Maybe it'll end up being a test scene that Spielberg shot for RotJ before the Director's Guild stopped him from directing?
For Revenge of the Sith, Spielberg worked on the animatics for the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan, and at the time, it was stated he worked on an unknown other scene. After having seen the film, I speculated the "other scene" was the Grievous/Obi-Wan chase. So if there is a "Spielberg chase" feature, I bet my deduction was right, and it's his animatics for the Grievous/Obi-Wan chase on Utapau or whatever the name of the sink-hole planet is.

Or simply remove crap from 9th disc - Star Warriors, Star Wars Spoofs, Anatomy of a Dewback and Star Wars Tech - that's 4 hours (!) of - in my opinion - unnecessary materials.

Those all look good to me, glad they're included. I don't need old documentaries to be re-released.

The problem with adding a 10th disc is that it would add to the cost for the overall set.

Thanks for these scans! It's hilarious to know why 3PO ripped that sign off now. Can't wait to see all these cut scenes.

I'd imagine a few people will get a little piece of the pie. Lucas and Fox will make the big bucks (although Fox won't make as much as they could have, Lucas had a very good contract which he gave up some rights for ones the studio thought of as having little value (merchandise and home video sales)) and maybe a few actors may have little percentages as well. If I remember the cast and crew were given bonuses from the profit the originals made although I don't think it will be carried over to the Blu-ray sales.

I might be thinking of the wrong director but I thought Lucas bought a certain make of car for key people in the cast and crew as a bonus. I may have my wires crossed though.

Once again, you can see almost all of those scenes in those spectacular fan-made YouTube documentaries on the OT. The Biggs one is awful - such a great decision to cut it. The pacing was bad and made Luke look like a bigger wuss than he is.

I do wish the ROTJ scenes remained, however. Those add some depth to an otherwise shallow movie.

So Spielberg staged Order 66, the Wookie Battle, the Yoda/Palpatine Battle, part of the Mustafar duel and the Grievous chase?

I always understood he worked on the Anakin/Obi-Wan duel, and an unknown second scene, I didn't know he worked on so many other scenes in the movie.

Yeah, Spielberg worked on the Utapau sequence. I think Lucas even mentions it on the commentary...and in one of the web documentaries, Lucas states it.

If it means we'll be deprived the perfectly lovely original version, yes.

If the films weren't finished in '77, '80, etc., then he shouldn't have released them.

It's an ethical issue, not a legal one. Sure, they physically belong to him, but when you start screwing around with film history (and hardly some minor footnote), you're on shaky ground.

If Orson Welles' last act were to create new colourized prints of Citizen Kane and destroy all B&W ones, should he have been allowed? Why complain? We've got "the classic version" on VHS and SD DVD?

Look, all of this antipathy is because of two simple facts: Lucas refuses to release some of the most important films in history; there are plenty of people out there who are perfectly willing to champion his indefensible argument. "Well, they're his movies -- he can do what he wants. If you don't like it, don't buy them. You're not a true fan," etc. It's childish in the extreme, even more childish than my inability to simply ignore such nonsense when I visit this board.

Most of us who aren't drinking the Kool-Aid are quick to point out that these objections would disappear if both versions were allowed to coexist (with the originals given appropriate restoration). This is called "being reasonable".
Enjoy your one-week suspension.

This board only allows blind praise and defense of the deity Lucas. I've made similar points as you and I've been called a bully, a whiner, an a**hole, and other things before being suspended while those hurling the real hatred and insults go unnoticed.

Regarding these blu-rays with all the tidbits of additional changes, Matthew Wood remixing everything, etc., I'm really curious to see what reviewers say and how the lists of all changes from the 2004 versions add up.
