Call me crazy, but ROTJ was always my favorite. But I do dislike that 'NoOooOo."

BTW, do you think the deleted scenes will be available on youtube?

Oh, it wasn't PT bad by any means, because Spielberg at least had some artistic control. But there are just some parts in KOTCS that make me freaking facepalm myself.

Ken, where are you? I'm genuinely curious to know what you think, and I mean that in a peaceful way. Are you happy with the apparent changes/corrections?

I remember reading that years ago. How could he destroy all the original prints? Aren't there people out there who still have copies? I heard he did change the negatives when he restored the originals in preparation for the Special Edition releases in 1997, but there should still some prints of the originals out there.

That is of course if this is really, truly in the blu-ray release. If this is true, this is a really sad day.

Here's what's really ironic for me - and I'm not just saying this to pile on - that was the only part of Jedi I freaking liked to begin with.

Hated Jaba's palace, hated the barge, hated the interminable speeder chases and even more tedious 'hey, let's run inside the death star this time' chase and absolutely detested all things Ewok buuuuuuut really, really liked the Luke/Vader/Palpatine showdown.

And what does he decide to 'fix'?

Amazing...

I agree with you there. Parts of me believes he still has animosity toward Marsha and several other people along the way that helped to make Star Wars. This is his way of eliminating them from his past. He doesn't have credits at the beginning of the movies, so his is the only name at the front. I mean it was Marsha that owned Indiana, it was her dog not Georges. He even tries to pass it off that it was his in From Star Wars to Jedi when they show him driving around with a dog, the wrong breed of dog mind you. Look at the people that fixed his dialogue for Star Wars, Empire, & American Graffiti. He gets far too much credit and this angst is well deserved. He should cherish these babies, and work on other experimental projects other than fixing Star Wars.

Question Dolby TrueHD 7.1 Audio

Blu-ray fans are upgrading their 5.1 surround systems to 7.1 surround systems. I love Blu-ray movies that have DTS 7.1 audio, but when are we going to see blockbuster movies on Blu-ray mastered with Dolby TrueHD 7.1 which will allow me to unleash the full potential of my 7.1 surround system?

The Star Trek movies with the original crew were released in Dolby TrueHD 7.1 on Blu-ray. As were the Shrek movies. I guess only Paramount offers that audio format in 7.1.

A moment of clarity 10 minutes ago:

Vader: If you will not turn to the Dark Side, then perhaps she will.
Luke: Never!

And then the sequence happens....Luke goes apeshit on Vader. Williams' music swells. The shots are perfect. The acting is perfect. Everything is perfect.

How do I NOT watch this with pristine picture quality with a 6.1 DTS-HD MA soundtrack?

I'm getting this set.

I am laughing hysterically at the new Krayt dragon yell. That's no dragon - it's a guy getting kicked in the nuts.

Maybe he just liked the Star Wars parodies so much, that he's paying tribute to them.

That’s was more a rant then an opinion. GL isn’t sitting there thinking how he can make the movies worse. He’s trying to make them better. He’s human and that means he’s going to make good and bad decisions. He apparently likes the new changes and I would say he’s probably better at this than me or you. So I’m going to trust him to make the movies good. After 30 years and watching the movies 10+ times I personally wouldn’t mind a few changes. To each his own just don’t say the guy is out of his mind because you don’t like the change.

What about Christopher Nolan and Insomnia? He directed that, but aside from that, he had no control over anything else (script-wise).

In that case, he should add a new one. RoTS - Vader stumbles off that operation table at the end, and mysteriously says The force is strong with this one (from ANH). Then a nice big fart for 'comic relief'. The scene ends with his infamous Whaaat? from ANH.

Who said he didn't have control? The editing is very similar to Memento, and he's used a lot of the story threads in that movie in his later films.
