I e-mailed Rick McCallum to see what he thinks about this thread. His response?

"It's so dense."

There's too much blasphemy going on in this thread about some solid classic film masterpieces.

Batman: The Animated Series & MotP are quite highly regarded, are they not?

I just cut the conversation about those films short...we are at an impasse. There's no going forward, and certainly no going back.

Best to let sleeping dogs lie.

That might be the first time I've mentioned him in here. Am I missing something?

I agree. How anyone can disparage The Phantom Menace is beyond my capacity for reason.

Trust me. After hours of debating the changes that have leaked out....

The thread is a hell of a lot more respectable and sane now on this tangent than it was during that.

Regardless of the discussion that has spiraled out of control, it's no longer about discussing people's opinions of Lucas.

It's the dissillusionment seeping into our minds at what the past day has given us. Finally, we have clear cut evidence that George Lucas needs to take that long ride to happy acres. So many of us over the years have been practicing psychiatry without a license with regard to George's ongoing dementia, but now we truely are vindicated in the knowledge that our diagnosis was true all along.

My friend mentioned to me on facebook today that Lucas will only be done making changes to the OT when he is dead...but that even then there will probably be notes in his will on the changes he wants made after he's gone.

It's too bad he was so busy butchering this release, otherwise 'American Graffiti' could have had digitally-inserted Audis and GTRs and a soundtrack by My Chemical Romance, Death Cab For Cutie and Katy Perry.

Think about it everyone, George just might be a victim of Multiple Personality Disorder. His original personality is buried underneath seven others. The first being his original self, which died and was somehow left behind in 1993. Unless we can somehow crack open George's mind and get his true self back, there is no hope.

By the way, here's a list of all seven of his personalities:

George Lucas
Seymour Butts
Moore Ron (Directed The Phantom Menace)
Shinobu Sensui
Fred Wood (Directed Attack of the Clones)
Pippi Longstockings
Caligula

I'm watching the Plinkett review again, and I'm at one of my favorite parts where he discusses that because the main enemy force is comprised entirely of battle droids, and they present absolutely no threat to the Jedi, that there is zero tension in any scenes where the Jedi are cutting through them like paper.

Then he cuts to a scene where Lucas and Spielberg are talking in front of a life-sized Battle Droid model and Lucas is saying "The Jedi can cut through them like they're butter...and they really are pretty useless."

Then they cut to a clip of Lucas and Plinkett says "%&^* YOU!"

Just...
