Would GL ever allow Criterion to license and release the UOT?

That's because it is completely crap...!!!

Since the OT deleted scenes will be in very poor quality, then I can grab them on youtube. No need this f....g box set.
I hate you GL.

By the way, Thanks for the info crs
I think your expectations were VERY unrealistic based on the release of AOTC and ROTS DVD's. If they haven't spent money on the transfer, spent money tidying up ALL of the issues from the '04 transfer and have gone cheap on the set, it was entirely unlikely that we would get anything other than the scenes deleted as they are with no touch ups, music or clean up.

The higher your expectation, the bigger the fall I'm afriad.

The DIRECTOR like you said, has no longer my respect. The Director has presented the other deleted scenes in the DVD with work on it, finished effects. Even if these scenes are not in the movie, they were presented with decency. Don't forget that the DiRECTOR has cut the Yoda/Quigon scene from the movie. The DIRECTOR has explained so poorly the mystery of Jedi Spirits. The DIRECTOR has BETRAYED us.

If it truly is expensive in George's eyes, then he should license the titles to Criterion. They'll pay for it gladly, I'm sure.

LOL, did you read any of my posts. The deleted scenes were NOT finished on AOTC or ROTS. Only TPM had that treatment to try and get sales numbers up.

What other films have you got were deleted scenes have had full production applied to them?

Who can remember the droid ship fuel tank farce on the ROTS DVD. Awful.

You're right man, but I had hope nonetheless. Like before, like for other releases, I'm disappointed.
Pre-order still cancelled, and no money for Georges this time.
I think he should learn failure. He should know whallenge on his work, and no Amens from his company.

Does anyone think Netflix will offer the Blu-Rays for rental? That could possibly appease folks who have cancelled their orders, but are still interested in seeing the movies in full HD. I wonder...

Are any B&M stores scheduled to do midnight openings for this on the 16th?

I hope they re-inserted Yoda's arrival on Dagobah in ROTS. But I guess we would have known by now, since the rips are out.

Don't expect this....
That's madness to have cut this scene anyway...

That's a bit harsh. The films are his babies. It just happens to be that he thinks they are ugly children and is quite willing to use his billions to give them plastic surgery. As they get older, he sees more problems and pays for more corrective surgery.

The last thing he wants is someone putting out pictures of his ugly babies after he has spent so much money making sure the world forgot their faces and now only see their new shiny ones.

The problem comes from the world thinking the babies were once beautiful and now look like chopped mince.

I have to admit after AOTC released I had imagined in my mind a final duel on Dagobah with Yoda and Count Dooku. Perhaps Yoda was fleeing after the upcoming Jedi purge (we all knew it was coming in Ep III) and Dooku followed Yoda. They had a final duel that ended with Yoda killing Dooku. Maybe Dooku did something in the style of the ghost effect or knew about the Sith not dying technique and voila, The Cave is now evil.

I know that Hastings (if you have one nearby) is having a midnight release party. Not sure of their price though...

I don't know if Wisconsin has any Moviestops, but they're are doing a midnight party for Star Wars. Their price should be the same as Target and Best Buy.

I pre-ordered mine again, but this time from Amazon. I orignally had mine ordered at Sainsburys, but I noticed yesterday that it was at £62.99 so I cancelled it and went with the £57 something at Amazon. Although I'm usually really good with price comparisons, I don't know what happened there.

Anyways, I do hope they dispatch early, whenever I pre-order Blu-rays I normally get them on the saturday before they come out, with Fast Five being an exception, I got that delivered yesterday on the day it came out.
