Hayden and Natalie just weren't experienced enough to be able to do that.
I guess that's true, at least for Natalie since she has proven time and time again that she is not just a 'good' actress but a legitimately great one.

Hayden hasn't proven shit to me. Jumper? Lol.

If I were to concede that nobody could make a great performance out of Lucas' bad writing, I would still say a better actor could have done a better job. It may not have been great, but it wouldn't have been groan-inducing.

I see it as a Skywalker story.

I think most people wouldn't mind the story focusing on Anakin if he didn't go from being a happy-go-lucky annoying little kid to a whiny murderer who is also a clueless idiot.
Hahaha!

Hayden's performance in Episode 2 was certainly dubious... but I don't think it's his fault. Even Natalie Portman looked bad with the dialogue she was given for AotC.

Who else other than Christopher Lee could take a jokey line like that and actually make it seem threatening?

And although I definitely agree Ian McDiarmid went over the top with it in ROTS in some scenes, his work in TPM and even AOTC is to be respected. All that political nonsense he had to spew on Coruscant and he actually was able to infuse the dialogue with a rhythm of some kind. He delivered it in a way that almost felt like it was written in iambic pentameter. And then it goes to Natalie in the same scene and her line readings are completely flat.

Haven't posted in a while. Just been tracking this release on the net, and the word is not good. By all accounts this will not be a good quality br. only eps 2 & 3 will be reference quality. The rest won't be much better than the '04 dvd release. you will get better sound but most of the issues from the '04 release will still be there, albeit in higher resolution to make them even more apparent.

I am really frustrated that Lucas hasn't bothered to give us the best product
he could, and is just tapping the till again to soak us again for a second rate release in another new format.

I'm a huge s.w. fan, but I'm still debating whether I should buy this inferior product.

sigh.............................

These screenshots are only 500Kb each. It's never a good idea to compare image quality between JPEGs that are heavily compressed.

I was in Future Shop a couple days ago (picking up Scarface) and they had a lifesized cardboard standee of C3PO and R2 (it was a pre-order ad).

If it's still there on the 16th, I'm gonna ask if I can take it :P

I doubt it. I think George recalls all of them back to the Lucas Ranch and burns them out of spite.

Honestly... nothing. It's a little creepy, but it's fine.

It's the fact that they clearly spent the time making Ewoks blink that could have been put to better use fixing the lightsabers color timing or fixing up various other little imperfections that irks people.

That's the problem with all of these screenshots floating around....all different sizes and half the time I am not sure if I am looking at them compressed or not.

Yea exactly. Why not improve all the lightsabers in the OT instead of adding more rocks in front of R2. Pointless things that didn't need to be added that they wasted time and money on.
