A good actor makes his role appear to be himself. They become that character.
But who determines what makes any character believable? Is there any kind of objectivity involved? As for Hayden, I liked him as Anakin, and that's probably because I didn't have a lot of preconceptions for the character. Obi-Wan only says in the OT that he was "the best star pilot in the galaxy", "a cunning warrior", and "a good friend"...all of which are presented in the PT. So, what's the problem?

Part of a good actor is not taking you out of the film by bad line delivery or what ever else. I think that's where some of his problems were. I guess that could be attributed to bad writing, but who knows?

It's like Godfather Part III, it was a horrible Godfather movie and that, coupled with people already not wanting to like it makes for a "terrible" movie. Oddly enough though, who seriously thought Mary Corleone was a good actress in that movie? That was literally the worst acting I've ever seen in a major motion picture. All of her scenes are pretty much unwatchable.

Doubt it. Both mine and my dads are old Sony 5.1 receivers. No hdmi. It's a Sony STR K502P. My concern is that even when we upgrade to ones that can decode dts-hdma will it still be in 2.1? I'd be super bummed. So the other question then is, are these only available in surround by dts-hdma? Because most all blu rays play in 5.1

Also, some have said that Harrison Ford is the best actor in the OT. Again, I'd like to know how and/or why they've reached this conclusion. Is it because he's had the biggest overall body of live-action work, when compared to his costars? Even after 30 years, most know him as either Han or Indy, so what does that mean in context to anything else he's done?
It's all just personal opinion.

Even though I enjoy Ep 2/3, I've always thought HC was very poor. But I also think Young Anakin in Ep 1 was quite poor too. So it's hard to put all the blame on HC instead of poor writing. But even than, a good actor can make it sound a lot more natural. HC was very wooden.

When I saw X-Men First Class, My brother and I were both commenting afterwords how wonderful Michael Fassbender was as Erik/Young Magneto. Just before Erik says "call me Magneto" at the end, my brother leaned over and said "call me Darth Vader!". We were both thinking the same thing. With only one movie, a tighter script, less lines, and less screen time for the character, they completely pulled off Eriks transformation brilliantly. And yet with 3 films, GL and HC couldn't.

I wasn't taken out of the film, by Hayden or anyone else. I just accepted it, because even though I watched the OT numerous times as a kid, there was never much told about who Anakin was, so I didn't go into any of the prequels with a preformed idea. The prequels touched all the bases with regards to Obi-Wan's statements to Luke, so there weren't any contradictions there. Beyond that, the character was almost a blank slate. All anyone really knew was that he was destined to become Vader, and be burnt in a volcano. No other backstory was given, until the films came out.

Well, I've never seen any of the "Godfather" movies, so I wouldn't know.

Agreed, Mavrick. Have you seen the size of the bloody logos we have to contend with in Australia?!

Neither the logo nor the dark blue rectangle behind it are stickers. They're printed as part of the artwork.

(Blasted nanny-state thinking!! )

So New Zealand will be getting screwed over in the desecrated cover as well then.

Preview of deleted scenes on BLU RAY - Warning, probably contains spoilers but the good news is the Treadwell scene is in colour

Are you sure about that MacEachaidh? Everything I've seen indicates they're on a j-card, or have you seen the set? If so, then damn.

That's a bummer. Do you folk get Aussie product for BDs then, or your own packaging?

(We generally get local packaging - largely because of those dipstick logos - but the discs inside usually have the European label art. Even on occasion when our content differs from the UK release, which puzzles me.)

.................................................. .......

But back on-topic, has anyone found an unboxing video yet of the North American release of the (two-thirds) complete saga? Since it's region-free, I'm still tossing up whether to buy the UK or US version.

Ignore them. The correct answer is Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness.

Seriously, I watched Star Wars yesterday (old school edition) and Cushing is so damn good. He may only have a few minutes on screen but every one of those made me

"Would you prefer another target? A military target? Then name the system!"
"There, Lord Vader, she can be reasonable."

PS. I won't be buying the BDs. I've put enough money into Lucas' pockets over the years.

OK, it's an assumption, based on a pre-release advertising display I saw at JB Hi-Fi, where the logo and dark blue rectangle was actually printed on the mock-up box. I admit I assumed that must have been a regular box from the coming release.

If I'm wrong, I'll eat the ... no, of course I won't. But if I'm wrong, I'll be happy!

(I still hate the Aussie logos, though.

Don't think so, amoergosum. But it was just an advertising mockup I saw, so maybe the shipping product will be different.

But that's the standard size and positioning of the ratings logo, so that'll be on the pack for sure.

No all U.k discs with the exeption of a few steelbooks have those awful age ratings on them.

I live in the U.k and this is one of the reasons why I have a region A player and import all my discs.

I guess this is one thing however that U.k fans cant balme Lucas for.

It's also nice they put the 12 age rating twice, just in case the first one was not enough !

Given the controversy with the PQ of the disc, I would like ask if the 2004 masters are good enough for this BD or do you guys think that would have been better remaster the movies? I mean the masters made for the DVDs (and made by Lowry) are pretty good but they are 7 years old... (I know that itīs not possible to get a razor sharpness with these movies but maybe Lucasfilm could offer the truly best PQ possible).

Quite the other way around actually, most store managers do not want to be bother about it and destroy them. Over the years I ended up with a lot of in store stuff my my Star Wars collection
